We did not know Jennifer personally but as a sister gateway town with Gardiner we know the impact and devastation of losing such an important person in their community. And I’m sure our paths have crossed a time or two. Cooke City Coffee believes in a Live Generously lifestyle and we help when we can, whether we know the person and their story or don’t. She seemed to be a genuine human being and it just plain sucks when the world loses someone like that. Posting the gofundme for anyone who feels they’d like to give. Beginning September 1st our hours will be changing. We’re not sure how or how often yet but just be aware, they won’t be the same. Keep your eyes peeled for new and changing hours to be posted periodically through mid October.

On Wednesday we had the pleasure of hosting the Mountain Belles Luncheon. Every week they get together at a local establishment for a meal and fellowship. We had some good weather forecasted for the day and I wanted to do something special. I planned an English Tea Party, attire encouraged of course 😊 Thank you to all that joined and have supported us throughout these first 10 years. Whoever thought (including myself) my little startup shop would see the success it has. It seriously takes a village and I happily claim the best one as my own.

We have an important announcement regarding our summer season. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be scaling back our hours and closing our doors to the public on Tuesdays. We have weighed this decision heavily over the last couple of weeks and not taken lightly the impact it will make on our community and visitors.

At Cooke City Coffee, we always encourage our employees to get outside and enjoy this incredible area we choose to call home. That philosophy applies just as strongly to our management and owners. It takes countless behind-the-scenes hours to thrive during business hours, and this closure in the week is necessary to ensure ALL of our people are living their fullest lives.

Cooke City has their own composting system. Located at the Cooke City School and installed/maintained by our school teacher, Lara Belice **cough, cough* Montana Rural School Teacher of the Year recipient. Cooke City Coffee has started composting our spent coffee. This is saving us 6+ bins of garbage going to the compactor per week. The compost is safe to use in gardens and flowers. DM us if you would like info on how to acquire a bucket (or MORE) for yourself!
