Eleanor Raye Lunn Anderson, of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed peacefully on January 4, 2026, at age 87. Eleanor was born on October 23, 1938. She grew up in Hammond and raised her family in St. Amant. Eleanor is survived by her children, Michael Anderson (Sabrina), Mark Anderson (Yvette), Susan Anderson Zeringue (Wayne), and Darren Anderson; her grandchildren, Brandon Anderson, Sr. (Kara), Abigail Anderson Lejeune (Joshua), Wayne G. Zeringue III “Jack” (Amy), and Claire Zeringue; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Bailey, Anderson, Adaline, Georgia, Blair, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her brother, Butch Lunn. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Juanita and Raymond Lunn, Sr., and by her siblings, Patricia (Healy) Robertson, Cynthia Miller and Craig Lunn. Eleanor is remembered for her kindness, optimism, wit, and caring nature. Following graduation from Charity Hospital School of Nursing, Eleanor served the River Parishes community as a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing and as a teacher for aspiring nursing students. Eleanor utilized her business judgment and savvy in managing multiple family businesses, including a home health care agency, sugarcane farming operations, and printing and advertising companies. She served her community through volunteer work with the Chamber of Commerce, including as President, and in other leadership roles. Above all, Eleanor loved her beautiful home in St. Amant, often drinking coffee on her patio overlooking oak trees and wildflowers, and sharing memories with loved ones. In her later years, Eleanor lived in Convent, assisting her son Mark with his hospitality operations. The family thanks her caregivers in Convent and at Chateau de Notre Dame for their exceptional care and kindness. A memorial service will be held on January 16, 2026 at Holy Rosary Church in St. Amant, with Visitation at 11:00 a.m., and Liturgy of the Word at 12:00 p.m. Private interment will follow in Waldheim Cemetery where Eleanor will rest in peace with her parents and family. — Holy Rosary Church
