October’s Texas Harvest of the Month is the Gala Apple!

Gala apples grow on trees in the Texas Hill Country and other parts of Texas. In the spring, their trees are covered in beautiful white flowers. Throughout the summer, the apples continue to grow and develop until they are ready to be picked in the autumn.

Great lunch today at McCullough Junior High, Conroe ISD!

Our students enjoyed Chicken Dippers with Cilantro Rice and an Egg Roll, Vegetarian Dippers with Cilantro Rice and a Vegetable Egg Roll, plus fresh California vegetables, ranch baby carrots, cherry applesauce, Mango Habanero Sauce, Milk and Water!

A huge shout-out to our amazing Child Nutrition Team for their teamwork, dedication, and pride in serving our students. We appreciate all you do to make lunchtime great!

The students at The Woodlands High School, Conroe ISD got to make their voices heard! They voted on what they would like to see on the school menu next year, and the majority choice is in — Wawona Peach Chamoy Pops!

Wawona is dedicated to providing healthier fruit choices for school children across the U.S. and helping schools offer nutritious fruit options.

And the best part? These Peach Chamoy Pops meet CN-level requirements!

We love giving our students a voice in what they would like to see on the menu. Great job, Woodlands High! Your vote matters!
