Looks like Mother Nature is hitting the snooze button on us this weekend! 😴🌧️
With a messy mix of heavy rain and 30+ mph wind gusts heading our way, Congers Lake is going to be a bit too wild for a nice stroll. For the safety of our team and because nobody likes a soggy coffee, the cafe will be closed this Saturday and Sunday.
We can’t wait to welcome you back for a much drier, calmer walk around the lake on Monday, Sept 28.
Grab a cozy blanket, stay safe, and we will see you on Monday! ☕✨

The Goldenrod Reveal: Late-Season Superhero! 🌼✨

Did you guess correctly from our last post?�If you blamed the bright yellow Goldenrod, you’re not alone—but Ragweed (the other one) is the real sneeze-maker! 🤧�
Here’s how to tell them apart on your next walk around the lake: 🍃 Look at the leaves: Goldenrod has simple, long, narrow. lance-shaped leaves. Ragweed leaves are wider, deeply lobed and almost fern-like. 🌼 Look at the flowers: Goldenrod sports bold, golden blooms visited by bees and butterflies, while ragweed relies on the wind to blow its pollen around.�Because goldenrod’s pollen is heavy and sticky, it stays put—making it a vital, late-season food source for our local pollinators as cooler weather approaches! 🐝🦋

�Even though summer has wrapped up, there’s always something vibrant to see at Congers Lake. Take a crisp autumn walk along the shoreline loop, then pop into Congers Community Cafe for a warm drink, pickleball gear, or free printable activity sheets for the kids!
