"Mulchy" Mark Wardlow, age 69, a proud westsider who always claimed the westside is the best side, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at his home with Sweetie and Nugget by his side. He was a 1974 graduate of Westland High School. Mulchy had many fond memories working at Sears Distribution Center and was a retired power lineman with the City of Columbus. His passions in life were riding motorcycles, drumming in numerous bands including Avec Amour, and golfing. He was a proud Notre Dame fan. Mulchy was a member of the ABATE Region 9 Pickaway County motorcycle club (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) and he always said, "it's a good day when I'm sitting and watching a flat track race with dirt in my beer." Mulchy was the self-appointed mayor of Commercial Point. You could find him having too much fun at Station 81, Doughboyz or Tavern 62. He generously gave his time in many ways-volunteering at Scioto Elementary School, driving friends whenever they needed a ride, and serving as the Turn 3 corner worker at the Commercial Point Karting Classic races for many years. He loved the farming community and the smell of manure in the air so much that he would volunteer to help whenever they needed. He was truly proud of his property in Jacktown. It was his little piece of heaven. He enjoyed sitting under the lean-to listening to his albums and watching the sun set. When the barn door was open, you could find him watching baseball or a race or piddling with his wheel horses. Anyone was welcome to stop by and shoot the s**t. Mulchy and Sharon are grateful to the dedicated friends who jumped in anytime they needed help. He will be truly missed. Preceded in death by, parents, Harold "Lefty" and Janet (Rickey) Wardlow and brother, David Wardlow. Survived by longtime partner, Sharon the Sweetie and his buddy, Nugget. He will also be missed by Mark (Jordan), Alison (Jeff), Matthew (Serena), Chloe, Jennsen and Grayson, his godson Trystyn, his beloved cousins in both Southern Ohio (aka the magnificent seven) and Kentucky, and numerous other family and friends. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5-7 PM where service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 22, 2026.. Interment Muhlenberg Cemetery, Darbyville, OH, immediately following service.
