We are here to update you and warn you.
‼️ TWO MONTHS!!! Last Tuesday, we hit our 2nd month in business at our new location ❤️ Business is great; we're staying very busy, and we've made many new friends. We would say that everything is absolutely perfect, but we've recently noticed something strange happening in our back dining room….
⚠️ A few Fridays ago, we noticed that about every 45 minutes, we would receive a complaint. After nearly two decades in business, we're aware that guest complaints are just part of it. People come in with bad moods, bad days, or just bad times, and some people are just unhappy overall; we get it! Everyone needs to eat. The strange thing is that every single one of these complaints was received from guests who were sitting at one specific table (W1) in our back dining area. At first, we thought it was a coincidence, but after the 4th setting of said table complained, we made the decision to close that table for the day as a temporary solution. Once the table was closed, the whole vibe turned around; there were no more complaints, and we were showered with compliments, and guests were just happy to be here with us 🧐
After our daily meeting, aka the two hours we spend cleaning the restaurant each day after closing. Our staff decided that we're simply just way too busy to decrease our seating. We had to come up with a creative solution, so we decided the best way to handle this problem would be with a "sit at your own risk" warning label. We've found that our solution has actually turned all the moods around, and the guests are loving it! It's honestly been quite the conversation starter here at Jill's.
So, just remember: if you've sat at W1, blame it on the table, not the service, food, or environment.
A few other things that happened last month: We taught more customers how to take their own orders! They're fast learners around here ✍️ We also got our sound panels hung, then we were notified that they were not hung right but it definitely has helped.
Also, this little chef guy by our register you may remember from our last location. We decided to keep him simply because the little kids LOVE him and he definitely occupies the little ones while parents are paying their bill! We noticed the other day that one of you stuck a spoon in his hand. We're not too sure which one of you did it, but we do thank you for the laugh; it made our day.
Anyway, happy birthday to our kitchen manager Shannon today and here's a reminder that we're closed on Mondays 😊
