Rich St., a 100 year old 105,000 sq foot warehouse filled with 97 private art and performance studios. Company built the original structure in 1910. They began making sanitary pipes, and eventually became EBCO and developed the modern drinking fountain and invented the dehumidifier. Since EBCO left in the 50's the building has been used as a glass blowing studio, a storage facility, the local head

quarters for Sweden Freezer, and the offices and storage for Pizza Hut and Taco Bell to name a few. The bar is located in the old lobby of EBCO, it was last renovated in 1944. We've done our best to keep all the original Birch wood work and Terrazzo flooring in tact, and to use as much old material from the building as we can. That includes everything from strange archaic machinery to massive tools and bolts that look like they were made for an ancient race of giants. The 3,000 sq foot event space encompasses the original manufacturing building. It has original sawtooth windows on the ceiling, a full bar, recently built modern bathrooms, and a holding kitchen for catering.

Franklinton based catering company, Milos Catering has taken over management of Strongwater Events starting 2024. While we close a chapter for the restaurant, another era begins for our urban-industrial events space.

Strongwater Restaurant will exist as a unique extension of the event spaces and will not reopen for regular service.

There will be absolutely no interruption to the existing events booked to be held in the venue for 2024 and beyond; all existing contracts and deposits remain in place, and clients will receive a level of service that exceeds their expectations.

Our Story

Strongwater Food & Spirits is a part of the Franklinton arts community encompassing both an elevated dining experience and an atmosphere that attends to our roots as a neighborhood bar. Strongwater has been able to transform the D.A. Ebinger Sanitary Manufacturing Company’s [EBCO] previous lobby into a one-of-a-kind restaurant and event space that was born from art and the creative spirits of 400 West Rich St., a 100 year old 105,000 sq foot warehouse filled with over 90 private art and performance studios. EBCO built the original structure in 1910 for the creation of sanitary pipes. Later on, they developed the modern drinking fountain and created the dehumidifier. Since EBCO left in the 50’s, the building has been occupied as a glass blowing studio, a storage facility, the local headquarters for Sweden Freezer Ice Cream Manufacturer, and the offices and storage for Pizza Hut and Taco Bell! Last renovated in 1944, we’ve done our best to keep all the original Birch woodwork and Terrazzo flooring in tact. The restaurant gains its aesthetic and character from the archaic machinery to the massive tools and bolts. Our 3,000 sq. ft. event space encompasses the original sawtooth ceiling windows, full bar, modern bathrooms and catering kitchen.
