Over the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of building something deeply meaningful - nurturing talent, creating food that comforts + connects, and cultivating a space rooted in inclusion, respect + community. We set out to reimagine what plant-based food could be, blending tradition with local ingredients to create dishes that conjure feelings of tender, younger moments. We whole heartedly feel that it’s the responsibility of a restaurant to serve food that builds a sustainable and equitable food system while producing a lasting relationship with our planet. And truly, we’re so proud of what we built with all of you.
As many of you know, the restaurant world looks very different than it did a decade ago. To grow and rethink how we show up in the vegan space, we need to create some room to breathe + reimagine what’s next. With that, Woodhouse Vegan will be closing its café operations this summer.
We are incredibly grateful to Oddfellows Columbus for giving us our first home, and to The Wood Companies for our last. Thank you to Park Service Coffee for bringing warmth (and caffeine) into our space. And most importantly, thank you to our amazing team - past and present - and to our loyal community who supported us from our humble meal prep beginnings, to our line-out-the-door pop up, into our first iteration of a brick + mortar and beyond. You’ve carried us through every chapter.
This is not an ending, but a transition. We believe growth requires letting go of what no longer serves us to make room for what’s next. While the path ahead isn’t fully defined, we’re stepping into this next chapter with gratitude, excitement + intention.
We’re going to soak up these last few months - seeing your faces, sharing stories + celebrating everything this has been. And if there’s one thing we’ll always say: keep showing up for your local, family-owned spots. It matters more than you think - every visit, every meal, every bit of support keeps those doors open. With midterm elections coming up, you have the opportunity to vote in alignment with candidates that take actionable measures to support your community.
