Tomorrow is May's Guided Craft Night!

At 6pm on Tuesday, May 26th we'll step back in time to Versailles as we make Decoupage Oyster & Scallop Shell Jewelry Holders.

To create a set of 3 shells, you'll be provided with an assortment of oyster and scallops shells, various styles of decoupage tissue, matte and gloss glues, gold paint, and brushes.

These make for wonderful gifts or as tres chic accouterments holders around the home.

$25 per set. Seats are limited!

Pertaining to Memorial Day, we will be open for normal business hours! Doors open at 4pm!

Dropping TODAY, 05/08 is our witbier, SCHMETTERLING ZUCKER BABY! Help us ring in the season this weekend with this classic Belgian wit. A heavy hand of both malted and unmalted wheat are balanced by generous kettle additions of orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise, and a whisper of cinnamon. Just a touch of styrian goldings hops complete the picture, giving you the perfect wheat ale to ring in the season. Pairs perfectly with our Spring Markt, happening tomorrow from 11-4!

We are 3 days out till Spring Markt!!

Gather the gang and join us for the day! As usual, the Platz bar will be pouring fresh lagerbier, and his swanky team of wax spinning cool kids will be hanging, and of course, a full parking lot of local crafters and makers selling some amazing art.

Mom's day is the following Sunday so this is a perfect opportunity to take her shopping, and enjoy some noms and bevvies with her!

Weather is looking like a perfect partly sunny, 75 degrees so dont waste the day inside!

This old building that our small brewery resides has a century long history. It's beams and bricks tell stories of decades of change and growth.

734 Oak Street was built in the early 1890's as a firehouse and stood as such until the early 1950's. When the city of Columbus sold the building, it was turned into a place where neighbors could come and take art classes that ranged from portrait painting and illustration to weaving and folk craft. In 1988 the old firehouse transformed into The Columbus Music Hall which provided space to celebrate community through jazz, bluegrass, samba, and world music.

When the music hall closed its doors in 2008, the building sat dormant until Gemut Biergarten carefully broke ground in 2018 to become a neighborhood brewery and restaurant. We are honored to steward this special structure for as long as we are given, and we certainly respect the specters we share this space with (and we definitely have some spooky stories to back up this statement).

But to lighten up this history preach, here's a video of a punk band that played in this old house when it was The Columbus Music Hall in 1991. That's 35 years ago!

It's brisk but the fluttery friends are making rounds. Would ya look at these two beauts!?!

The team is excited for warmer days in the biergarten. This week we'll be working on bringing in the floras and faunas to truly get this spot in its true tip top patio spot shape.

As the weeks move on, we'll continue cultivating a broader native garten to do our best to contribute a healthy habitat to our local butts and bees. We're nothing without them.

Big bier cheers to our tiny pollinators and beautiful bartenders 🍻 the world would be extra rough without both.

BRATWURST BURRITO!

Another addition to our brunch menu is this horkin' log of a meal! Our new Bratwurst Burrito is packed with pan seared chopped bratwurst, haus fries, spicy pepper relish, and mozzarella. Baked until crispy toasty and topped with 2 fried eggs, salsa verde, sriracha, and chives.

There's only a handful left after yesterday's burrito bonanza but this guy will be a regular on our brunch menu!

Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from and 10am-2pm.

Have a lovely Easter Sunday and dont forget to stop in to get your daily bier (bread) on this heavenly of days!

Our new Dill Pickle Schnitzel is hot and ready! This crispy masterpiece is a dill pickle brined chicken cutlet, breaded and deep fried, then drizzled with a dill pickle creme fraiche and some dill pickle slices.

Your choice of 2 sides!

We don't give no s***z, all we want is that schnitz!
