It’s easier to make your own vanilla paste than you’d expect! A few ingredients and good blender are all you need.
Vanilla bean paste can be used in place of vanilla extract with a 1:1 ratio.
It can be used pretty much immediately (although letting it sit for a month will provide even more flavor) and you you’ll get those beautiful caviar specks on your baked goods!
4 oz of vanilla beans, roughly chopped
6 oz of water
16 oz of sugar
12 oz of rum or vodka 80 proof
2 oz light corn syrup
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
