If you've ever considered joining us on one of our amazing trips to Antigua Guatemala, there is no time like the present. There are incredible flight deals going on right now on the dates of our October and January trips, and pretty good fares for our March trip.

Check out the screenshots from Google Flights, put in your own info, and see what you come up with. I don't know how long these deals will last!

And, of course, to find out more about the trips, head to antiguaconamor.com, our dedicated site devoted to our trips! (We've got a sale going on there too, to celebrate the launch of summer.)

These trips are a lot of fun - whether you're going solo, with a friend/partner, or bringing your family! (Yes, they are kid-friendly trips.) We'd love to show you around the history, culture, and beauty of this wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Good morning! If you’ve been with us a while, you probably know that we don’t have any food dyes in the bakery. Anything with color happens naturally via the ingredients - such as the pink hue in our strawberry buttercream, from the puréed strawberries we use. However, we’d always explained that the sprinkles we use did contain artificial dyes. Over the years, we’d tried using naturally-dyed sprinkles. But they’d melt during shipping. They’d melt during baking. They’d taste weird. But….no more!

We are so excited to announce that we found a fantastic supplier for naturally-dyed rainbow sprinkles, and we have officially made the transition! They look great, they taste the same, and we hope all you sprinkle-loving B’s fans will enjoy this updated cookie just as much as the previous version.

And yes, these naturally-dyed sprinkles will be used if you choose sprinkles on your cakes, cupcakes, or cookie cakes! (In case you’re curious, the colors are derived from beet, spirulina, turmeric, annatto, paprika and beta carotene.)

Good afternoon! We hope you all had a good week, trying to stay cool and dry. Have you tried June's featured mini lemon quick bread loaf? If you haven't, you really should (it's pictured above). We did banana bread in May....what will be July's flavor? Any requests?

Meanwhile, below, you'll see some more info about our new boxed lunches, as well as a variety of updates across the board. We hope to see you again this week - and if you haven't been in lately, we hope you'll stop by soon. It takes a village to keep small businesses like ours going, and we appreciate your support so much!

Fun Guatemala note: we just wrapped up hosting a group of seven in Antigua Guatemala. This was the sixth of the part-vacation, part-education, part-experiential tours we lead multiple times a year. We have some additional highlights below and will have more on our social media.

Easier Lunch Catering

We are happy to announce an easy, do-it-yourself lunch catering option! While we have put together boxed lunches many times before for a variety of groups and organizations, we always handled it manually. And while we are still very happy to put a custom order together for you (over email or phone or text), we also know sometimes you just want to handle it all yourself and cross another item off the to-do list.

With our new Boxed Lunches Catering option, you can choose from:
1) one of five sandwiches (egg salad, three different chickpea salads, and BLAT), have them on sourdough, as a wrap, or on GF bread
2) select a B's side or a bag of chips
3) choose a cookie or bar to go with it

You can customize each box differently! Need a completely gluten-free box? No problem? Want each person to get the same sandwich but a different cookie? Sure thing. You can even enter the name of each person (or persons) as you configure the order, and we will write names on the outside for easy distribution!

IMPORTANT: there is a minimum of ten lunch boxes per order. Our online ordering system doesn't allow us to set a minimum order for an individual item, so please just make sure you have ten lunches (at least) configured before finalizing.

There is a three-day lead time built in, as well, because we make both the sourdough and the GF bread in-house. We have to make sure we can have enough bread for your order, as well as continuing to offer breakfast and lunch!

Southwest Pasta Salad

Just a reminder that we have a new pasta salad on the menu: Southwest!

Featuring the same smoky flavors of chipotle and red peppers that were in our seasonal southwest chickpea salad, it's become an instant staff favorite. Add it to your lunch as a side, or get an 8 oz or 16 oz package from the Grab & Go.

4th of July Hours

For those who like to plan ahead, we wanted to make sure you knew our 4th of July plans:

We will be closed Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6. Re-opening on Tuesday, July 7.

If you want anything for the holiday weekend, be sure to come in by July 2nd! Whether it's walking in to get things out of the case or the shelf or the Grab & Go, or ordering ahead a special item, July 2 is the last day. Don't forget to order ahead!

More From Our Group Trip

It's only been a few days since our group wrapped up their tour of Antigua Guatemala, and they packed in so much! Some people like to have afternoons to relax, explore, shop, swim in the pool, read, etc. This wonderful family wanted to pack in as much as they could! And so we did.

You, too, can explore this wonderful city with us - with your own handpicked group, your own dates, your own itinerary! More info at antiguaconamor.com/private-trips

Or, of course, you can join one of our pre-set trips, with details below. We would love to have you! And for our vegan and vegetarian customers, this is one of the easiest cities to eat out in! So many options. (For our meat-loving folks, there's plenty of deliciousness for you too!)

Guatemala - 2026 and 2027

We have one trip left on the calendar for 2026 and three for 2027, and we'd love for you to join us on an exciting, relaxing, educational, and inspiring trip to our favorite place in the world: Antigua Guatemala.

Antigua Con Amor (Antigua With Love) is what we are now calling our trip experiences, and the accompanying website provides a comprehensive look at trips for people who are interested. There is a sample itinerary, photos and details, FAQ, schedule, payment plans and more!

We also have an accompanying Instagram account, with the same name, and we'd love for you to follow along!
Antigua Con Amor website -- Antigua Con Amor instagram

You can still find info, at bsaltyandsweet.com/guatemala, and can follow links from there to Antigua Con Amor, just incase.

Private trips: You don't have to stick to the calendar we've put together! You can gather your own group of family members or friends, and pick your own dates for a custom tour! You'll find info on the Private Trips page (https://www.antiguaconamor.com/private-trips) of our new site.

Antigua Guatemala has year-round highs in the upper 70s, and lows in the 50's. Little humidity, and January - in particular - is the height of the dry season. Sunny days and cool nights....it's a wonderful combination!

All trips participants get to stay at Porta Hotel Antigua, an eco-friendly and beautiful hotel property. All rooms are in the garden area of the hotel, facing the lush grounds and/or the swimming pool. You'll eat wonderful food, walk through and learn about this incredible colonial city, and have unparalleled experiences in this mile-high valley that sits at the base of three volcanoes. And you get the two of us as your personal tour guides!

We spend a lot of time posting photos of the delicious pastries and scrumptious meals we serve you....but what about the coffee? We LOVE coffee here at B's and today we're sharing with you one of our most popular drinks: the Mocha Latte.

The latte starts with a 2 oz shot of espresso, which then gets mixed our housemade dark chocolate syrup. After that - your choice of milk! We've got whole, skim, oat, almond, half-and-half and heavy cream. This one is hot, but all lattes can also made iced.

As always, all of our coffees - from lattes to cold brew - are made exclusively* with De la Gente coffee, direct trade from Guatemala. We love this coffee, we know the farmers (truly!), and we know we are improving lives by using this coffee.

We have a wide variety of coffee-based beverages for you, ready to be prepared hot or cold. We have over a dozen housemade syrups (all vegan), ready for you to customize your caffeination experience!

*The exception is our decaf, since DLG doesn't sell a decaf variety. For that, we use Narrow Gate, roasted right here in Columbia.

We rolled out a brand-new side item last week: Southwest Pasta Salad. It was a huge hit! It's inspired by our southwest chickpea salad, a seasonal offering. This pasta salad features the same smoky flavor from our chipotle mayo, and featured roasted red peppers, black beans, corn and cilantro.

Available daily as an included meal side with sandwiches and wraps, as an a la carte side, or by the 8 or 16 oz container in the grab & go fridge.

Greetings to all! We wanted to let you know that tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, June 9, meal service will be paused for about 45 minutes to an hour, so that our meal service team can get a large catering order put together.

So, if you're looking for breakfast or anything on the all-day lunch menu, please either come in right when we open at 7 am (or soon after) or wait until after 8:30 am.

This will NOT impact the making of coffee or selling of pastries! All of that will function as normal. This is only about meal service out of the savory kitchen.

We appreciate your understanding and patience! (And if you think you, too, might want to place a catering order, let us know.)

Good evening! Thank you for marking our 6th anniversary with a great week at B's. We got to see many more of you, and we were excited to make lots of breakfast burritos. lots of cupcakes, lots of pop tarts and lots of coffees! Please do keep showing up - for us, for other small businesses. Every visit counts!

We have some new things debuting this week; we are responding to customer feedback about a recent change; and we have a special notice about breakfast on Tuesday morning! Read on for all the details and, as always, please know how much we appreciate you.

Fun Guatemala note: we are hosting a group of seven in Antigua Guatemala this week, wrapping up on Thursday. This is part of the part-vacation, part-education, part-experiential tours we lead multiple times a year. Follow along on our social media, and read more below to learn more about these trips!

June Bakery Menu

The June pastry menu has arrived, and with it came some new and returning flavors! Once again, we took our previous cake-by-the-slice flavor (Chocolate with Cherry) and turned it into a cupcake! It joins a longtime favorite - Churro - as the other cupcake for the month (pictured above, with the Oatmeal Carmelita).

We also brought back a classic summer pop tart - Peach - along with a newer addition to the menu, Raspberry Frangipane (both pictured below, with Maple Oat muffin). If you're not familiar with frangipane, it's the creamy almond filling that typically goes inside almond croissants! For this pop tart, we fill the inside with both frangipane and raspberry jam, and then top it with a raspberry glaze after baking.

The full menu is below and also available on the menu page of our website!

Remember: anything on the June bakery menu can be ordered ahead - either in-person or online - until 1 pm the day before. After that, everything (except cookies) is walk-in only!

New Meal Items & A Change Back!

We rolled out a brand-new pasta salad this past week, Southwest, and it was a huge hit! Featuring the same smoky flavors of chipotle and red peppers that were in our seasonal southwest chickpea salad, it's become an instant staff favorite.

Also rolling out this coming week will be the ability to order lunchboxes for catering! Customizable by sandwich/wrap type, along with picking all the right sides and even including a cookie. These will have a half-dozen order minimum, and will be available for delivery as well as pickup. Keep your eyes on the website and the social channels for the official launch.

Finally, based on customer feedback, we are rolling back our avocado mash to its original chunky form. We've always mashed it by hand and left it kind of rustic, but recently switched it up to a blended version for a smoother product. Turns out, many of you miss the old way! So it's coming back. Thank you, as always, for sharing your feedback with us!

SUPER IMPORTANT: We have a large breakfast catering order on Tuesday morning, which will need to be ready at 8:30 am. Because of this, we will likely have to pause preparation of any breakfast meals for 30-45 minutes as that time approaches.

If you want breakfast on Tuesday morning, to be safest:
1) Come in before 7:30.
2) Come in after 8:30.

Thank you for your understanding!

4th of July Hours

For those who like to plan ahead, we wanted to make sure you knew our 4th of July plans:

We will be closed Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6. Re-opening on Tuesday, July 7.

Our Group Trip This Week

We are excited to be leading our sixth group trip to Guatemala. This is a private trip for three generations of a family! They picked their own dates, custom-designed their itinerary and are having a great time. We even got to do a few things we've never done before in Antigua!

You, too, can explore this wonderful city with us - with your own handpicked group, your own dates, your own itinerary! More info at antiguaconamor.com/private-trips
