This week, Celia Cruz, the Queen of Salsa and the first primarily Spanish-language artist, was honored with the Early Influence Award from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

At FIU, her legacy runs deep: an Honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree awarded in 1992, our CasaCuba cultural centre celebrating Cuban American heritage, our students' performances in Celia Sinfónica, and the 230-piece music score collection stewarded by our institution. Her voice shaped a century of music and culture. Azúcar.

Thank you Teachers ❤️

Giving back to teachers has always been fundamental of who I am. Many teachers have helped mold me in to the Man I have become. Mrs. Robin Wiltison was my History teacher and later, principal for my oldest son at MLK Middle School in Beltsville MD. She was an incredible educator and helped me during a difficult period in my life. She passed in February of 2021,and I was heart broken. There were alot of teachers who were incredible but I will never forget Mrs. Wiltison and how she went beyond just being a teacher and mentored me. Teachers are so important to our children, to all the youth. As a thank you to all the our educators, all our teachers you will always receive a 15% discount on your entire check no need to wait for just one week to celebrate and appreciate teachers.
