Hey everyone!
Just wanted to clarify that our recent post about pronunciation was meant to be fun and a little satirical. It was inspired by all the people who ask how to say things before ordering, which we totally get! That’s actually how the idea was born.

We promise we’re not offended by mispronunciations (and we definitely won’t kick you out for one 😁). If we really cared, we would’ve said something a long time ago. Say it however you want 🙃

And no need to call the ice company, we’ve got plenty. How else do you think we keep your drinks cold? 😉❄️

In honor of Independence Day, we’re giving you a step-by-step guide on how to independently read our menu 🇺🇸. No more Kay-so or Fa-gee-ta. Here’s how to read it like a Spanish-speaking pro 🇲🇽:

Queso 🧀 = keh-so
🙅‍♀️ (Not kay-so)

Fajita = fah-hee-tah
🙅‍♂️ (Not fuh-gee-ta)
👉 The letter J makes an automatic “H” sound in Spanish.

Parrillada mexicana = pah-ree-YAH-dah meh-hee-KAH-nah 😎
🙅‍♀️ (Not pah-reh-lada meh-ex-ecana😭
We’re not trying to talk about anyone’s ex here. Just grilled meat 🥱)
👉 Double L = “Y” sound, and X = “H” sound. Confusing, we know 😵‍💫

Guacamole 🥑 = gwah-kah-mol-eh
🚫 (Not wack-a-mole — it’s not a game… though yes, we do whack the avocados to make it)

Molcajete = mohl-kah-heh-teh
👎 (Not mol-kah-geh-tee)

Chilaquiles 🌶 = chee-lah-kee-lehs
🚫 (Not chill-a-quills — there’s no porcupine involved in the making)

And last but not least🥁…
Pico de gallo = pee-coh deh gah-yo
🚫 (Not pee-coh deh gal-low — though props for nailing the first half 🤩)

That’s it…
