Tonight at 6pm! Join All Good Books and local artist Meredith Walker for an evening with our current resident artist, Addeline Lentz.

Addeline Lentz is a Charleston- based painter and Lowcountry native who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of South Carolina. Her artistic practice includes fine art, commissioned paintings, large-scale murals, live event painting, and textile design. Working in both abstract and representational styles, Lentz creates original works inspired by the coast, nature, architecture, travel, and the stories that connect people to place.

Artist Statement:

Making art is both a creative outlet and a form of therapy for me. It’s where I find peace, work through ideas, and reconnect with the things I love most. Creating gives me the chance to slow down, be present, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds me.

The Lowcountry continues to inspire much of my work. Its marshes, tides, wildlife, and quiet landscapes are places I return to again and again, each offering something new to notice. Alongside these paintings, I enjoy exploring other forms of expression, from painted wooden animals to abstract pieces inspired by the movement, color, and feeling of the coast. I don’t limit myself to one style or medium—I enjoy following my curiosity and allowing each piece to develop in its own way.

As a local artist, it’s an honor to share this collection in a space that values creativity, community, and connection. My hope is that these works encourage viewers to slow down, reflect, and find a sense of calm, joy, or familiarity within them, just as I do while creating them.

The Women in Art Book Club is back next week! Join us Monday September 17th at 6pm for an evening celebrating women in art. Whether you’re an art historian, a beginner, or just love art, everyone is welcome at the table.

For this second season of the club, we’ll be focusing on the lives and work of individual artists. We’re starting out with ‘Ninth Street Women’ by Mary Gabriel. This book covers Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell, and Helen Frankenthaler. Then we’ll read ‘Everything She Touched’ by Marilyn Chase, the biography of American sculptor Ruth Asawa. Finally we’ll read LaToya M. Hobbs’ ‘Carving Out Time’, which explores the life of the painter and printmaker.

• August 17, 2026 at 6pm - Ninth Street Women by Mary Gabriel

• September 21, 2026 at 6pm - Everything She Touched: The Life of Ruth Asawa by Marilyn Chase

• October 19, 2026 at 6pm - LaToya M. Hobbs: Carving Out Time by Rudy, Grothe, and Hobbs
