This past weekend Drip Queen Coffee had the honor of vendoring at the PBR Space Cowboys event at Falcon Stadium, celebrating 250 years of America. All of America.

Between a 20-year military career and 15 years of my wife running toward emergencies as a paramedic, we have walked into a lot of rooms that were not necessarily designed with us in mind. You learn real quick how to read the room, be professional, and let your work do the talking.

And that is exactly what we did.

Fox Nation was in the building. Crypto was sponsoring. The Space Force brought the stars. And Drip Queen Coffee, a veteran family business from Colorado Springs, brought the flavor. We were thorough.

Living in the South of this country has a way of preparing you for certain kinds of energy. You know the one. So do the people reading this. We smiled. We served our amazing products. We represented. Because that is who we are and that is what we do.

Not every room deserves an explanation. But every room deserves our excellence. And they got it.

To the Black entrepreneurs, the veteran-owned businesses, the minority-owned brands thinking about putting yourself in uncomfortable spaces... go anyway. Let them be surprised. Let them be uncomfortable. That discomfort is called growth, and it ain't yours to carry.

DQC will always stand on the side of right. And in the face of whatever comes our way, we will always be the bigger person in the room. That has never failed us yet. ♛

June 19th deserves more than a hashtag. So here is the truth most of us were never taught. 👇

The Emancipation Proclamation was signed January 1, 1863. Enslaved people in Texas did not find out until June 19, 1865 — 912 days later. Not because news traveled slowly. Because enslavers knew and chose to hide it. Some historians say federal troops delayed so slave owners could collect one final cotton harvest.

And when the 13th Amendment "abolished" slavery, it included one sentence that immediately became a weapon: "except as a punishment for crime." Within months, Black Codes were written to criminalize Black people and lease them back to the same plantations. That loophole is still active today. Nearly 2 million incarcerated Americans perform forced labor. Angola Prison in Louisiana sits on a former slave plantation. Workers there earn as little as $0.02 an hour. 74% of them are Black.

Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. That is 156 years after 1865.

Happy National Donut Day, Royals. 🍩☕

Let us talk about a match made in heaven: a great donut and an exceptional cup of coffee. Two things that have always belonged together, and today we are celebrating both.

But first, a tribute to the most legendary donut in Colorado.

At 14,115 feet above sea level, the Summit Visitor Center on Pikes Peak makes the ONLY donuts in the world crafted at that altitude. Scientifically designed for thin mountain air, made on a 1,500-pound machine that the entire Summit building was built around. The catch? You have to eat them at the top or they deflate the moment you come back down.

That is dedication to the craft. And we respect it deeply. 🏔️

So here is the National Donut Day plan: hit the summit, honor the donut, take in those Pikes Peak views, and then come back down to 3230 Centennial Blvd and let us pour you something exceptional to finish your day right.

We put Andouille in a BBQ brown sugar glaze, cooked it until it was caramelized and slightly criminal, and served it next to a homemade Honey Parmesan cornbread that is warm and golden and has been ruining other cornbread for people since we introduced it.

Yesterday The United States Air Force Academy Class of 2026 officially graduated becoming Commissioned Officers at Falcon Stadium, and Drip Queen Coffee was right there on location — pouring cold brew coffee and tea for some of the most deserving people in Colorado Springs.

To every cadet crossing that stage, to every family who traveled to be there, and to every person who has supported this graduating class through four incredible years... this cup is for you.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. From our family to yours.
