Earlier this week the owners of The Perk Downtown in Colorado Springs announced they are closing The Perk after owning it for over 16 years. The Perk was one of Purple Mountain’s customers. This is a sad event but it does not change Purple Mountains business. We are not going out of business as some places have reported. We received a whole new shipment of beans yesterday and are excited about roasting a few new coffees and offering them for sale after we perfect the roast. It is very challenging times right now for most small businesses. Keep supporting us and we’ll keep delivering great artisan roasted coffees!

This is a view is Pikes Peak that I wake up to every day. In July 1893, Katharine Lee Bates wrote the song "America the Beautiful", after having admired the view from the top of Pikes Peak. The term “purple mountain majesty” comes from the history of this mountain. The park, Garden of the Gods is in the foreground. The mountains and natural beauty lends itself to the art of coffee roasting. Have a great weekend!
