Owning a business isn't always rainbows and butterflies.
It's long days, late nights, hard work, dedication, sacrifice, aggravation, stress, uncertainty, faith, and perseverance. It's missing things you want to do because responsibilities come first. It's working more hours than most people realize and sometimes wondering if all the effort is worth it.
Being a small business owner can be rewarding, humbling, and exhausting all at the same time.
For me, it's also about trusting God. Knowing that even when the path feels difficult, He is carrying me through it. There have been many moments when I questioned myself, but God always finds a way to remind me why I started.
This morning, that reminder came through my daughter.
She drew this picture of a coffee cup from The Barefooted Hippie. ❤️
What some people see as a simple drawing, I see as love, sacrifice, support, and pride. My children have sacrificed right alongside me. They've shared their mom with businesses, customers, projects, and dreams. And yet they continue to cheer me on, encourage me, and remind me that what we're building matters.
So today, my heart is full.
This little piece of artwork will proudly hang on the walls of The Barefooted Hippie as a reminder that success isn't just measured in dollars, sales, or accomplishments. Sometimes it's measured in the love of the people standing beside you when nobody else does.
But God. 🙏
And for that, I am grateful.
