A couple of weeks ago, our family packed up and headed to Ohio for a few days.
That meant something that would have felt impossible not long ago...
For 3 days, we were completely away from the coffee shop.
And everything kept running.
Coffee was made. Donuts were served. Customers were cared for. The doors opened and closed each day just like they should.
That's a huge testament to our incredible baristas, who did an amazing job while we were gone. We are so thankful for them.
One of the reasons we chose the name Nomad Coffee Roasters is because adventure, travel, and exploring new places have always been a big part of who we are as a family. When we decided to open a brick-and-mortar coffee shop, one of our fears was that we'd lose that part of our lives.
From the beginning, one of our goals wasn't just to build a coffee shop, it was to build a business that could operate well even when we weren't physically standing behind the counter.
That meant creating systems, training great people, documenting processes, and learning to trust others with something we've poured our hearts into.
Five months after opening, we got a glimpse of that vision becoming reality.
This trip wasn't just a family vacation. It was a reminder that businesses can be built in a way that creates freedom instead of taking it away.
We're still learning. Still growing. Still improving.
But we're incredibly grateful for our team, our customers, and everyone who has supported this little coffee shop from the beginning.
Because of you, we're able to keep building something we're proud of, while still making room for the adventures that inspired the name Nomad in the first place. 🤎☕🏔️
