Join us on Wednesday and Thursday nights this June and July on a USFWS Ranger lead sea turtle walk.

You will learn about sea turtles and then go to the beach to have a chance to watch a loggerhead lay her eggs!

The walks will start at 8 pm in the Merritt Island NWR visitor center. After a program in the auditorium everyone will travel out to Playalinda. There the ranger will scout for nesting turtles. If one is spotted, the Ranger will take the group down to watch a loggerhead turtle as she digs her nest and lays her eggs.

We just received this notification from NASA.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at approximately 11:45 AM, KSC Security Police Officers will operate a checkpoint at Gate 4TT at the A. Max Brewer Memorial Parkway (SR-402), and the Haulover Canal Bridge will be raised. We will remain in this configuration until after a successful launch or scrub.
This means that you will not be able to enter the Refuge from Titusville or enter the area south of Haulover Canal after 11:45.

As everyone knows, ole’ Mr. Grinch is always trying to ruin Christmas for everyone and in this case, was trying to keep our citizens from enjoying the Christmas Light Fest that is always a holiday favorite here in Brevard County!! While unforeseen circumstances caused by Mr. Grinch kept our great partners at the City of Palm Bay Rec from hosting this year’s Light Fest, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Brevard County Fire Rescue, in partnership with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity Inc., are coming to the rescue to save Christmas in Brevard by hosting the Light Fest!!

That’s right Mr. Grinch you lose again as Junny is here to save Christmas by hosting the “1st Annual Junny the Red Nose Bloodhound’s Christmas Light Fest” that will take place on December 16th, 17th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd!! The Light Fest will be held at 855 Camp Road in Cocoa and the gates are open from 6:30 P.M. till 9:30 P.M. each night!! The cost is only $10.00 per car, so load the family up and come experience this one of a kind light fest that not only has tons of twinkly Christmas Light displays, but also all sorts of Police Cars, Fire Trucks, and other law enforcement toys, all decorated up for the kids to enjoy!!
