Last season AC traveled to Powell for their week 1 matchup, but was not able to finish the game due to multiple weather delays. This season, Powell travels to AC in one of the most electrifying atmospheres for High School football.

Sources say that Powell will reintroduce their new transfer quarterback, Jaylon Benjamin, who played for Coach Lowe as a backup behind their star quarterback Deuce Rodgers. Benjamin saw the field often before going back to his hometown in Clinton, TN.

Brayden Sharpe is entering his second season as a Maverick. Sharpe, who once played for Oak Ridge has shown that the connection he has with their star quarterback JD Gillum has become stronger. Sharpe has high expectations of himself, and his team entering the 2026 season.

Powell opens up tonight in Anderson County. Kickoff at 7pm. You can catch the game on Rivalry Thursday.
