Our lovely and most talented barista Tammy surprised me today with a new drink she invented. I stopped in while walking my dog today to get his his Pup Cup, and she handed me a drink that absolutely blew me away. Pineapple coconut Mocha with Vanilla Cold Foam. If you want to try something different, then please this one is a must try. Real pineapple puree and Ghirardelli chocolate sauce, oh my!

Light roast or dark roast? The difference goes beyond flavor.

What’s actually the difference between a light roast and a dark roast?

It starts with the roasting process. Dark roast coffee spends more time roasting, creating the deeper, bolder, more robust flavors many coffee drinkers associate with a “strong” cup.

But stronger flavor doesn’t automatically mean more caffeine.

Generally, light and dark roasts start with similar caffeine levels, and roasting changes the bean’s size, density, and composition. Depending on whether you measure your coffee by weight or volume, the caffeine difference between roasts can be relatively small.

So if you love that bold, rich flavor, dark roast may be your choice. Prefer something brighter and more nuanced? Give light roast a try.

Either way, understanding your coffee makes that morning cup a little more interesting.
