Kudos to Prince William County Board Chair DeschundraJefferson for calling for the full elimination of Prince William County’s Meals Tax on July 1, 2026. Restaurants saw a marked decline in business after Prince William County instituted the meals tax. Unfortunately, over my objection and despite voters overwhelmingly rejecting it twice, the Fairfax County Board implemented a meals tax on January 1, 2026. If the Board is serious about affordability we need to also look at the repeal of this single industry tax that hurts our businesses and residents.
