🍪 Dessert of the Day: Ms. Rinn’s No Bake Cookies 🍪

Now this one is PURE nostalgia. ❤️

Back when I was in high school — in the 1900s 😂 — one of my best friends’ grandma had one very clear love language: feeding all of us girls.

Always.

It didn’t matter if you were hungry. You ate. There were snacks, there was something sweet, and there was always a hug waiting for you.

Ms. Marianne Rinn was an elementary school teacher for as long as I can remember, is the matriarch of the family, and one of those special people who somehow makes you feel like you belong the minute you walk through the garage door. She has always given the very best hugs… and she has always known exactly what to say.

In the fall of 2024, one of my other best friends and I had the chance to visit Marianne and her daughter, Starla — my friend’s mom. When we arrived, we walked right through that garage door, as if 24 years had never passed. We sat around reminiscing, catching up on where life had taken all of us and, of course… we ate. ❤️

Ms. Starla had made a batch of these No Bake Cookies, and y’all, I just about cried.

One bite and suddenly I wasn’t a grown woman sitting around catching up on life. I was a teenage girl again, surrounded by my friends, eating something made for us simply because feeding people was how this family said, “I love you.”

So today, I’m sharing a little piece of that memory with you.

❤️ Ms. Rinn’s No Bake Cookies — chocolatey, peanut buttery, oat-filled little bites of nostalgia.

Some recipes are more than recipes. They carry people, places and memories right along with them. And this one tastes a whole lot like being loved. 🍪❤️

What a special day celebrating 90 wonderful years of a truly special lady! 💕

The morning started with a Happy Birthday singing telegram and a dozen delicious pastries, delivered by Mr. Ed and Ms. Phyllis, sent with love from Bettye Finstad. 🥐💐

Then came a lovely girls’ lunch and, of course, a homemade birthday apple pie to sweeten the celebration. 🥧❤️

So many thoughtful touches, laughter, love, and memories made this a birthday to remember. Happy 90th, Helon! We hope your day was as beautiful and special as you are! 🎈💖
