Back at Boro Brine in Brooklyn for round two, and Chef Mark did it AGAIN! 🇵🇭✨ Their new fall tasting menu is full of bold flavors, Filipino influences and creative dishes that are almost too pretty to eat. Plus, the intimate chef’s counter gives you front row seats to all the culinary magic!

And if you can squeeze in one more thing after the 8-course tasting menu, let it be the lobster Roll!!

Still one of my favorite tasting menu experiences in NYC 👏🏾

**And if Bushwick is too far, they have a second location in the East Village, NYC.**

And I love that you can actually hang out here. Bring your laptop, get some work done, grab a coffee, bookworms can pick up a new book and literally spend your whole afternoon here like I did. You can also check out their lineup of book clubs, author events, writing nights + more. Plus they stay open until midnight!

This longtime New Jersey gem is serving all the classics. We ordered griot with pikliz, akra, bannann peze, marinad, chiktay, diri djondjon, whole snapper, legume AND still found room for their house made Haitian rum cake 😮‍💨.

Dare I say some of the best Haitian food I’ve had in a minute!!! They’re open for lunch and dinner and also offer catering and private events.

📍 Point Seven / 200 Park Avenue, Midtown Manhattan

Located inside the iconic MetLife Building, Point Seven is Top Chef Masters alum Chef Franklin Becker’s seafood forward restaurant, bringing together coastal cuisines from around the world, sustainably sourced seafood and some creative flavor combinations.

Even the space tells a story! The reflective ceilings were designed to mimic ocean water to tables and bar tops made from recycled ocean plastic, sustainability is woven into the experience.

A few of my must-orders:
🍝 Spaghetti Chitarra: Light, flavorful, and my favorite dish of the night!
🦀 Now in my TOP 3 Crab Fritters
🍚 Peruvian-Style Shrimp Fried Rice: Don’t overlook the sides!
🐟 Grilled Snapper Special: Crispy skin paired with herb garlic butter.

And for my homebodies, they recently launched Point Seven On The Go, offering seafood-forward dishes specifically created for takeout, delivery, and catering through major delivery apps. So you can enjoy a little Point Seven without leaving the house!

Sugar or salt in your grits?! 👀

The grits alone are worth the trip to the Bronx 😭👏🏽 Thelma’s Kitchen is serving up GOOD home cooking with fried fish, shrimp, chicken, mac & cheese, collard greens + some of AMAZING grits I’ve had in a minute. They’re known for their famous grits and even let you get a free sample so YOU know why they got that title. And those collard greens?! I’d pay the toll just to get another bite lol.

The prices are very reasonable too! Plus they stay open late so this is a good late night spot if you need something good.

Weekday brunch just makes sense 🥞🍸!

Now you all know I’m always team pancake, but this French toast was something special! It was nice and thick with a crème brûlée top that gives you that perfect caramelized crunch. And they’re now making their own Greek frozen yogurt in-house with specialty flavors like Pistachio Praline and Honey Date Dream 😮‍💨.
