While the previous post had good intentions at heart, it clearly was not well received and clarification is needed.

There is a good reason that the doors of Jenkins will not be open to the public this Wednesday. That reason is that the contents and history of Jenkins have been returned to their original owners, the Jenkins family.

With Jenkins Restaurant & Deli closing for business, we felt it was only right that the founding family deserved control over the contents, memorabilia, and history that they procured over nearly 50 years.

Please respect the privacy of the Jenkins family over the next several weeks as they catalogue and sort through the large volume of contents hanging on the walls of the restaurant.

We'd like to thank you again for your overwhelming support during our final days of business this week. Due to unforeseen circumstances, and with the best interests of our community in mind, we will no longer be hosting the open house this Wednesday, January 21st, to which we had invited our community to select photos and memorabilia from the deli. A private group has bought everything related to Jenkins Deli. We understand the disappointment this may cause and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love and support you have shown Jenkins during these final days. Because so many of you came out to visit us one last time, we have officially run out of food and will be closing one day earlier than originally planned.
While this wasn't what we expected, our hearts are full. Seeing familiar faces, hearing your stories, and feeling the warmth of this community has been amazing. Your support over the years and especially during these last moments means so much to us.
Thank you for making Jenkins such a special place and for giving us the most meaningful send-off we could have hoped for.

It is with great sadness that we share that January 17th will be Jenkins Deli’s final day after nearly 50 years of serving our community.
This deli has been so much more than a business — it’s been a place filled with memories, friendships, and familiar faces. We are truly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years.
If you or your family have any personal photos displayed in the deli that you would like to keep, you’re welcome to pick them up on Wednesday, the 21st, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We would love for these memories to go home with the families they belong to.
All other antique and décor items will be included in an estate sale, which will be announced at a later date.
