We have a contribtion jar Grant's Bar-B-Que. Asharie Perry is the daughter of Sheree Bills, a longtime Grant’s Bar-B-Que pitmaster and employee and we want to help send her daughter on to bigger and better things
My name is Asharie Perry, Throughout high school, I stayed involved in sports, clubs, and academics. I played varsity volleyball all four years, did track, powerlifting, and marching band, and held leadership roles like class secretary and senior class vice president. I was a regional qualifier in powerlifting each year and earned medals with the marching band at State. I also joined clubs like Anime, Robotics, Bowling, and Lady Leaders. I was inducted into the National Honor Society, stayed on A&B Honor Roll, ranked in the Top 10 of my class, and passed all nine dual credit classes I took. I also was nominated to be a Texas Scholar which was the cherry on top of my senior year. High school has been a busy journey, but it taught me discipline, leadership, and how to balance it all. After graduation, I will be attending Northeast Texas Community College, where I plan to get my Associate of the Arts degree and certification in embalming. Although becoming a licensed embalmer is part of my plans, my ultimate ambition is to become a criminologist. After earning my Associate of Arts degree and embalming certification, I plan to transfer to a university to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in criminology.
