Another 18-hour day in the books, wrapping up around midnight… and right back at it this morning. But seeing this place come together makes every long day worth it!

A few more things checked off the list:

🔥 Bar-back shelving is COMPLETE

🥃 Bar sign is hung

💻 POS system is officially in its final home

🔨 Bar top is ready for its final panels

🪑 Furniture is ON THE WAY — delivery expected in the next 2–4 days!

🎨 Some special art projects are underway, and the leaked photos are looking incredible

🏢 Our front building sign is scheduled for next week and should be hanging by the end of next week!

👥 Interviews are happening and we’re officially starting to BUILD THE WHISKEY BRAVO TEAM!

🚨 WHISKEY BRAVO UPDATE — WE’RE GETTING CLOSE! 🥃🔥

What a weekend — and what a BIG few days at Whiskey Bravo!

If you’ve driven by lately, you’ve probably noticed things changing almost daily. What you don’t see is just how much work has been happening behind the scenes.

And when we say we’ve been working long days, we mean LONG days.

Our owner has been putting in 12+ hour days, heading home long enough to shower, eat dinner and spend a little time with his family — then coming back around 9 PM and working until 1–2 in the morning, only to be back at it again around 7 AM the next day.

Then doing it all over again.

Opening a restaurant in an older building has definitely thrown us some surprises 😂, but we’re knocking them out one by one.

Here’s what we accomplished just over the last several days:

🔥 THE SMOKE SHACK IS FINISHED!

Our smoker officially has its new home! The Smoke Shack is complete, and today we finished adding the hand-wash sink, hot water and plumbing needed to keep everything running properly.

🔨 Ramp completed & concrete pad poured

🍻 Bar-back cabinet built

🚰 THE PLUMBING NIGHTMARES ARE FINALLY BEHIND US!

And “nightmares” might actually be putting it lightly.

Since taking over the building, we’ve dealt with 15 different water-line repairs — including leaks in the attic and lines hidden behind finished bathroom walls that had to be opened back up.

We replaced the main water pressure valve, rebuilt the three backflow valve assemblies, repaired toilets and chased leaks throughout the building.

At one point, we even had a toilet spraying water from underneath the tank and across the seat. 😂

Every time we thought we found the last plumbing problem, the building seemed to say, “Hold my beer…”

But today, we can finally say: WE GOT IT DONE.

🚒 FIRE MARSHAL WALK-THROUGH

Today we also completed our first walk-through inspection with the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s office.

That is another major step checked off the list as we continue working toward opening day.

💳 POS SYSTEM IS LIVE

Our Shift4 POS system has been installed, and the host stand, bar, server stations and kitchen POS are now up and operational.

🎨 LOCAL ART IS GOING UP

We also picked up two hand-painted Whiskey Bravo signs from a local artist that will be displayed inside the restaurant.

And she isn’t finished yet — next week, she’ll be painting our large building sign as well!

We love being able to bring pieces from local artists into Whiskey Bravo and make this restaurant feel like it belongs to the community.

🔥 THE KITCHEN KEEPS GROWING

Last week we scored two fryers and a prep cooler through Marketplace and got them moved into their new home.

Piece by piece…

The kitchen is coming together.
The front of the house is coming together.
The Smoke Shack is ready.
And Whiskey Bravo is finally starting to look like the restaurant we’ve been picturing from the beginning.

We are making progress by leaps and bounds every single day.

Dishwasher being delivered tomorrow and ice machine is inbound as well.

🗓️ OPENING UPDATE

Right now, we are still PUSHING HARD for a launch the first weekend of September! 🥃🔥

There is still work to finish.

There are still inspections to complete.

There is food to prepare, a team to hire and train, and about a thousand little details that come with opening a restaurant.

But we’re getting there.

And every day, that opening-day checklist gets a little shorter.

🎨 Calling All Local Artists & College Art Students! 🎨

Whiskey Bravo Southern Kitchen & Smokehouse is looking for a talented local artist or art student who would like to help leave their mark on a new Clarksville restaurant!

We're looking to commission one or more wall art pieces that celebrate the spirit of Tennessee, military heritage, Southern hospitality, or the history and character of our location. We're open to creative ideas and would love to showcase local talent throughout the restaurant before we officially open.

This is a great opportunity to:

My wife works at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, where she sees firsthand the impact heart disease and cardiovascular conditions have on patients and their families. What a difference just a few days can make! 🤯🔥

The momentum at Whiskey Bravo Southern Kitchen & Smokehouse has been incredible!

✅ Friday, we picked up our commercial 6-burner stove with oven, and while we were at it... we stumbled across an AMAZING deal on a second smoker! We couldn't pass it up.

✅ Sunday, despite the on-and-off rain, we cleaned up the entire back area, cleared out overgrown bushes and trees, and made room for the new smoker.

✅ Monday & Tuesday were all about progress! Our security panels went up, the smoker roof was built, and we're putting the finishing touches on it today.

✅ The kitchen walls have been painted, and the transformation is unbelievable. Pictures don't do it justice—it honestly feels like a completely different kitchen.

✅ Our new General Manager, Matt, has been working nonstop, going through checklists, building recipes, organizing menus, and dialing in ingredients so we're ready to hit the ground running.

✅ Equipment keeps arriving! Our sweet tea brewer, coffee machines, juice machine, and commercial dish machine have all been ordered, and site visits are complete.

✅ Our building sign has officially been ordered and should be installed in about two weeks!

Every day brings us one step closer to opening our doors, and we couldn't be more excited. Thank you to everyone who has followed this journey, shared our posts, offered encouragement, and believed in what we're building. It truly means the world to us.

One More Question...

Now that we have our second smoker, we're getting pretty anxious to fire it up!

We're thinking about partnering with our catering company, North Meets South Catering, to host a BBQ Launch Sale before Whiskey Bravo opens.

It would give everyone an early taste of what's coming to Whiskey Bravo while helping us put our new smoker to work before opening day.

If not... I guess we'll just have to do the hard work of eating it ourselves!

With 30 years of hospitality and restaurant leadership experience, Matt has built an impressive career spanning airport dining, full-service restaurants, quick-service operations, and food sales. His passion for developing strong teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and opening successful restaurant concepts makes him the perfect person to help lead Whiskey Bravo into this exciting new chapter.

Matt and his wife have proudly called Clarksville home since 2014, where they've raised their family and now enjoy life as grandparents. When he's not leading restaurant teams, you'll likely find him smoking barbecue, tackling woodworking projects, or spending time with his family.

As we continue preparing for our September opening, we're incredibly excited to have someone with Matt's experience, leadership, and heart helping build the culture and guest experience that Whiskey Bravo will be known for.

Whiskey Bravo Southern Kitchen & Smokehouse Opening Date Below!!!

If you drive by today we have the windows open and getting some fresh air in.

Update on things:

Tables and chairs should be delivered in next 3-5 business days!!

We have identified a Manager candidate and have offered a position. We are patiently waiting a response 🙏🏻

In the mean time the kitchen walls are getting painted and refreshed. We can’t be producing amazing food within the walls as bad as they were looking.

Pictures to come once we get them painted.

For those who have reached out about positions thank you for sending them in and once our manger has accepted the role, first task is going though all the resumes and getting everyone scheduled for interviews.

We plan to be open before September 1st 2026 !!
