Trish Rose Malloy told us to go to Solebury Orchards, so we did.

Brian Smith planted twenty-four acres of corn and soybean ground with apple, peach, and cherry trees in 1985, opened the gates in 1989, and still runs the farm today. New trees go in every year.

Founded in 1681, and still gathering neighbors along the Delaware.

This Saturday, Bristol Borough marks fifty years of Historic Bristol Day: house tours, a classic car show, and tea on the South Lawn, from ten until four.

Bristol came to us from a neighbor, and it has become our newest Community Table story, a walk from the wharf to Mill Street and the afternoon that follows.

Over forty years, we have heard some version of the same question from nearly every table in the house: now that we are out this way, where else should we go?

We have never had one good answer. We have a dozen. This season we put a few of them in one place: the Churchville Nature Center, Snipes Farm, Tabora Farm and Orchard, Tyler State Park, and Byers' Choice. An orchard, a farm that has stayed in one family for generations, a park made from old farm roads, a workshop where things are still made by hand.

None of them are ours, and none of them need to be. They are simply good neighbors.

Now we would like your answer. When someone visits from out of town and asks where else is worth seeing, where do you send them? Tell us in the comments. We will be reading every one.
