📢 Restaurant Closing Update
Hey everyone, just an update as some people have been asking about our closure.
Back in January, we took over the restaurant with a 6-month trial period to see if we would purchase it. By the end of June, we had to make a decision, and after much thought, we chose not to move forward with buying the business. Since then, we’ve spent the past 90 days hoping for a smooth transition with a potential new owner. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and now the doors have closed for good.
This decision wasn’t made because of lack of business or potential to grow, in fact, many of you gave us so much encouragement and showed us what was possible here. The harder truth is that there were aspects of the local climate we didn’t want to be a part of. The way certain groups and individuals in the community treat small businesses, along with the politics and negativity that surround the area we were located in. This created challenges that went beyond just running a restaurant. One piece in particular, the loud voices in local Facebook groups who seem intent on tearing down and destroying local businesses made the financial risk of ownership something we simply couldn’t justify. There are people who want to help grow that area, but there are enough people who don't want it to grow, and are willing to create roadblocks for those who do.
That being said, we can’t say enough about the amazing people we did meet, the ones who supported us, welcomed us, and became like family. You are the reason we pushed through as long as we did, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We are so grateful for the memories, the opportunity to serve you, and the community you gave us during this time. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. ❤️

**Updated** We also do want to thank Chet Hitt for the opportunity and privilege we had to run the restaurant and try out our pathway. We feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity, and thankful for all he has done and continues to do for this town. I know places like The Outpost will continue to come and grow, as more opportunities like the one we were given are provided thanks to people like him
