Last month, One Off Hospitality presented a $10,000 culinary scholarship to Andrea Rodriguez (), a senior at North Grand High School in Hermosa/Humboldt Park. Andrea plans to pursue a career in baking and pastry arts, with the goal of one day owning her own business. She has been cooking for her siblings and family from a young age, and is especially driven by the chance to mentor others as she builds her career.

Over the past five years, One Off has given $40,000 in cooking scholarships to several talented C·CAP students who aspire to join the culinary industry. Our goal is to provide education, training, and job opportunities to shape the next generation of hospitality leadership.

Jill said it best! Continuing with our series asking the women of One Off: What is a significant accomplishment in your career that you are proud of, and how can we foster a stronger sense of belonging for women in hospitality?

Jill shares that she has had the great privilege of working with, hiring, promoting, and mentoring young people AFAB. She has led numerous bar programs that emphasize women winemakers, brewers, and distillers. Invariably, she’s found that the women crafting these incredible wines, beers, and spirits are also the ones paying their employees and farmers well, and using their platforms to advance economic justice and environmental sustainability. Jill believes that when you invest in women, you automatically invest in an extraordinary community of people.
