Tour de Texas kicks off today — who’s coming to see us?

We’re bringing a special Limited Release coffee: Burundi Rubirizi.

Just 125 boxes are available: 25 now at our West Fulton shop and Milli by Metric, plus 25 at each Tour de Texas stop:

09/04 — Steady Pace Coffee
09/06 — Stranded Coffee
09/08 — Wayward Coffee Co.

Grown at 1,750 meters, Rubirizi is a field blend of Red Bourbon, Mibirizi, and likely some SL34. It’s bright and layered, with ripe red fruit, citrus, black tea, gentle sweetness, and a clean, lively finish.

Farmers from Rubirizi have delivered cherry to Long Miles Coffee Project’s Bukeye washing station for years. This harvest is the first time there was enough volume to keep the coffee separate and present it as a traceable lot of its own.

50 boxes in Chicago. 25 at each Texas stop. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

See you on the road.

Announcing: Metric’s Tour de Texas!

We’re taking Metric on the road this September for a series of brew bar takeovers with our friends at Steady Pace Coffee in El Paso, Stranded Coffee in San Antonio, and Wayward Coffee Co. in Dallas.

To celebrate the tour, we have selected Burundi Rubirizi, a special lot from Rubirizi Hill produced in partnership with our longtime friends at Long Miles Coffee Project. Grown at 1,750 meters, Rubirizi is a field blend that reflects the complexity of coffee cultivation in Burundi, where Red Bourbon and Mibirizi grow alongside what is likely some SL34. Farmers from Rubirizi have delivered cherry to the Bukeye washing station for years, but this is the first harvest with enough volume from the hill to keep the coffee separate and present it as a traceable lot of its own.

Just 125 boxes will be released, with 25 available at each Texas stop and 25 back home in Chicago at both our West Fulton café and Milli by Metric beginning September 4.

Texas, we’ll see you soon.

Hi Friends! We’re hiring.

Over a decade ago, Metric started here in Chicago as a small wholesale roastery built around coffee, community, and a belief that quality and transparency matter.
Since then, we’ve grown a lot. From our roastery to Metric Fulton, and now with the opening of Milli by Metric, what began as one business has evolved into something much bigger.

With that growth comes a new chapter. Today, we’re excited to share that we’re hiring one of our first roles under En Masse—the parent company behind Metric Coffee Co., Metric Fulton, and Milli by Metric.

We’re currently looking for a full-time Accounting & Bookkeeper/Admin to help support the financial systems behind our growing family of businesses.
This person will play an important role in helping us build thoughtful, sustainable systems across all brands—from bookkeeping and payroll to inventory, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial organization.

We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, values meaningful work, and wants to be part of a company that genuinely cares about craftsmanship, hospitality, and community.

If this sounds like you—or someone you know—we’d love to hear from you.

Recognition like this reflects the people behind the work. Our baristas, roasters, trainers, bakers, and support team show up every day with focus, discipline, and care for the craft.

This washed red caturra from Carlos Esteban Cortes is a fruit-forward, deeply sweet expression of Nariño’s high-altitude terroir. Grown at 2,150 meters, the coffee balances structure and clarity with a bold, clean cup-proof that careful, traditional farming still delivers some of Colombia’s most compelling coffees.

Carlos is a young producer with an old-school mindset. He tends his farm with intention, focusing on plant health, cherry selection, and consistency year after year. Beyond his own land, he is actively involved in the local cooperative-working alongside neighbors, sharing insights, and learning from collective experience.

The result is a coffee that speaks plainly and confidently. Clean and expressive, with notes of kiwi, chocolate orange and honeysuckle, this lot reflects both meticulous care and the strength of community. It’s a reminder that when producers are supported and knowledge is shared, everyone from farm to cup benefits.
