This is an interview with our award-winning brewer, Anthony Haynes. Anthony won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup for our Dark N’ Curvy Dunkelweizen—just six months after taking the helm at Piece from our award-winning former brewer, Keil Weimer.

As we celebrate 25 years of Piece, we’re grateful for Anthony, Keil, and Jonathan Cutler, all of whom have helped make Piece Chicago’s most award-winning brewpub.

Celebrating 25 years of Piece means celebrating the friends who have helped make it special—including our amazing brewing friends.

Today, we have nine outstanding collaboration beers on tap. And one is especially close to our hearts.

We brewed “The Boys Are Cibak in Town” with our friends at Revolution Brewing and Yakima Chief Hops in honor of our dear friend and Chicago brewing legend, Jim Cibak.

It’s a 5.4% ABV Pale Ale brewed with Yakima Chief Hops. Anthony describes it as a humble Pale Ale bursting with old-school hop character. It’s crushable, delicious—and it does some good, too.

$1 from every pint sold will be donated to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Jim’s honor.

We love you Jim.

For one unforgettable night, we celebrated 25 years of pizza, beer, music, and the incredible community that made it all possible.

To everyone who has walked through our doors over the past 25 years, thank you for making Piece your place. This celebration was for you.

A huge thank you to our friends Jason Narducy, The Nielsen Trust: Kelly, Miles and Daxx Nielsen, Adam Plamann, Dave McClennan, and our co-owner the legendary Rick Nielsen for making it an unforgettable night.

And a special thanks to our great friend and legendary Chicago photographer, Will Byington, for capturing theses memories we’ll be talking about for years to come.
