It was a dream of entrepreneurship. With this dream, they opened their first store on the south side of Chicago. Myles, a formal chef created Lem's original Bar-B-Q sauce and its magical spices. Once people had a taste of the secret sauce, they kept coming back for that unique flavor. And as a result, Lem's Bar-B-Q House was a succes

s! After fourteen successful years the company decided to open another location. Myles and Bruce idea of having a second location;included their brother James, also a formal chef. In 1968, the second Lem's Bar-B-Q House opened
in the historic Chatham Neighborhood.

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to celebrate 72 years of Lem’s Bar-B-Q!! We gave out pens, baseball caps, free food and sauce. The lady in the photo brought in some old giveaways and got her order free. Thanks to all of our customers for being with us all these years!!

Next Thursday is our 72nd Year Anniversary, and we have a few specials going on!! Giving away an order every 30 minutes....

Over the years, we’ve given several gifts out to customers. Pens, tote bags, calendars, credit card holders, etc. If you bring in 3 items we’ve given away, you’ll get a discount.

We’re open from 12-10pm, but the specials end at 5pm.
