Facts
There’s been a notable amount of disquiet coming out of the McDonald’s customer camp, and most of it is to do with its pricing. Last month, the restaurant chain revealed its McValue menu, which promised, well, (Mc)value, but people are finding that it really isn’t as good a deal as it makes out to be – and really, what the menu does is highlight the fact that prices have gotten out of control.
At the moment, McDonald’s is offering the McDouble on its value menu for $2.50, but on social media, people have pointed out that this same burger was less than half the price a decade back. “This is not just inflation, this is greed,” one person said. They’ve also clocked the fact that the much-publicized $3 menu in the McValue offer is full of items that were already under $3. So is it really that good of a deal if they’re just repackaging items under a new bannerhead? Not really.
Because of all this, customers are now (allegedly, if you believe social media sentiment) checking back in with Burger King, and finding that it might, just might, be a better and more affordable choice. What do you think?
