Carpe Diem. Seize the Day. ❤️
Today is a bittersweet one at Chick-fil-A South Loop as we say “see you later” to Lupita after more than four incredible years with our family.
Lupita came to Chicago from a small town in Alabama as a first-year college student—new to the city, new to Chick-fil-A, and admittedly a little shy. She walked 30 minutes to her interview because she hadn’t yet figured out Chicago buses, trains, or even Uber. We hired her that day, and looking back, we’re incredibly grateful we did.
Over the next four years, we had the privilege of watching Lupita grow—and she helped us grow right alongside her.
She cared deeply. About our guests. About our team. About our community. About the smallest details that made South Loop feel special. Whether it was transforming our restaurant with her decorations, creating moments for our guests, celebrating her teammates, or simply delivering genuine hospitality, Lupita brought a little more heart into our restaurant every day.
She wrote in her farewell message that South Loop became a place where she felt welcomed, celebrated and free to be completely herself. What she may not realize is how much she created that same feeling for everyone else. That is Lupita’s legacy here.
Now she’s seizing the day once again—this time heading halfway around the world to Thailand to become a teacher. 🇹🇭❤️
Lupita, we could not be more proud of you. Thank you for trusting us with these four years. Thank you for your heart, your creativity, your kindness, your laughter, and the love you poured into this place and its people.
You are, and always will be, part of the Chick-fil-A South Loop family.
Thailand may be a long way from Chicago, but know there is an entire team back home rooting for you every step of the way.
Go experience everything life has waiting for you. Keep being uniquely you. Keep caring for people. And keep seizing the day.
We love you, Lupita. Now go change the world. ❤️
