We are at the end of that middle red line. Had no idea it was this extreme.

🚨CONFIRMED PDS TORNADO - KANSAS: a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located 6 miles northeast of Independence, moving east at 25 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

What a scary evening. We knew when the storm spotters were parked on our road it was going to get bad. Thank you to our prayer warriors. I’m told the tornado lifted over our house before going back down east of us. We have damage, but we are all safe and okay. We found out we can indeed all squeeze into our safe place. In true Jess fashion I shattered a mason jar right where we all had to sit 🥴 My hands were shaking so bad- I am not the person to call in an emergency!

Thank you to our friends and family members that were keeping us safe and informed, we appreciate and love each of you. It’s quite an experience being hunkered down knowing you are at the mercy of Mother Nature and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. The eerie silence before all hell breaks loose. Ugh. Even though we lost internet our phones were all going off with warnings and alerts. We could hear the rumbling, the massive hail, and the distant sirens. My youngest was crying silently in the corner. All I could do was pray. And pray I did.

My cousin texted and asked- are we praying or are we blessed. We are blessed because we were all pray’n! 🙏🏻
