Unexpected is an understatement today...
Mekhenna's Haven welcomes two beautiful baby bunnies 💖 sadly a few didn't make it as the mom was a bit unsure of what to do being a first timer... Thankfully I remembered what my Mom did when this happened to us as a kid. Thankful for Chelsea Vet Clinic being so close and having formula and a dropper for these two little cuties.
My heart is so full it's hard to contain... Now to keep these little babies alive and happy. Going to attempt to hold the mom down so they can feed off her good stuff.

Welcome Luck to Mekhenna's Haven ❤️ Lucky was found dumped off in Southroyalton to fend for himself. Some local Do Gooders were able to catch him and we raced over to pick him up. He is now home adjusting in his new pen next to our baby chicks. We plan to build him an outside enclosure and pen this coming week so he can join the rest of the gang outside ❤️

Today Mekhenna Welcomed 6 new hens to her brood. All the ladies are getting along fabulously.
The 3 we rescued last night are still in quarantine as we know nothing about them and want to make sure they are healthy. So far they have no issues and don't seem to have any ailments.
Super exciting around our farm these days. We may even be welcoming another Bunny if it's able to be caught. ❤️

Update:
We went back at 8pm and met up with a small group of fabulous caring people from Orange. We all were successful and able to capture all 3 chickens. Unsure at this point, but possibly all Rooster as two are now crowing lol. Either way it was an extremely successful night and the unwanted chickens dumped off on the Rd were rescued. They all are quarantining in our garage caged, until I can inspect them all for illness, mites and lice. Hopefully if all goes well in a few days we will be able to introduce them to the rest of the group. The crows this morning are heavenly ❤️ Just melts my heart we were able to rescue these three cuties.❤️

We had quite the adventure this afternoon. We tried rescuing a rooster and two hens dumped in orange off on private property on a dirt road. Individuals were caught on a game camera and have been reported. Such a shame people are beyond irresponsible. If at all you are unable to care for your animals, reach out to your local and surrounding communities. There is always somebody willing to help or take your animals in. There is never any reason in my mind to leave any animal unable to fend for itself on the side of a road like trash. Such a shame.
Hoping to be able to catch them tonight once they calm and roost. There is a great team of neighbors and folks helping out to make sure these chickens are caught and given a nice forever home here at our little farm. Wish Us Luck 🤞

We Welcomed 6 baby chicks to our home on Easter ❤️ They are doing fabulous and cute as ever. Awaiting warmer weather to welcome a few more ducklings. We love spring and new beginnings. Mekhenna also built a new duck coop, and we brought home 3 new ducks. Bubbles, Creamie, and Mocha. They all have adjusted nicely and fit right in. ❤️
