Just a Cup of Coffee
This photo says it all.

A soldier, buried halfway in the earth, clutching a canteen cup and a copy of Stars and Stripes. It’s not glamorous. It’s not staged. It’s just a real moment of stillness carved out between the chaos.

From June 6th through August 30th, 1944, thousands of Allied troops fought in Normandy. Many would never return. Those who did survive carried with them the weight of that day and the memory of the ones who didn’t make it.

We imagine a cup of coffee like this brought a little warmth, a glimpse of normal, a moment of peace, even if just for a minute.

As you sip today, take a moment to honor those who gave everything to defeat tyranny.

This courage is timeless.
