Sometimes the greatest lessons in life come on four paws.
The love I have for Chewy—and the love he gives me—is something I honestly can’t put into words. Our animals have this beautiful way of making us feel loved, needed, important and never alone.
But Chewy has given me something else, too. He has taught me to slow down.
I’ve always been someone who is working, working out, running around, taking care of business and moving on to the next thing. I used to go through an entire workday without even thinking about taking a break.
Now? Every couple of hours, Chewy reminds me there’s a whole world outside those doors. ☀️ We step outside, feel the sunshine, play a little catch, take a walk—and for those few minutes, everything else can wait.
What a privilege it is that we get to care for these beautiful animals. To give them a home, feed them, protect them, make room for them in our lives and love them with our whole hearts.
And somehow, while we think we’re taking care of them, they end up taking care of us in ways we never expected.
Chewy has changed my life. He reminds me that life isn’t only about working harder or getting more done.
Sometimes life is simply about stopping, looking around, throwing the ball, feeling the sunshine and being present with someone you love. 🐩❤️
