BUSINESS OWNERS: Stop scrolling and make sure you have your own copies of these things saved right now ↓

→ Bank, credit card + loan statements

→ Receipts + vendor invoices

→ Sales reports from your payment processor (Stripe, Etsy, Square, etc.)

→ Payroll reports (deposit confirmations, filings, W-2s/W-3)

→ Tax records (filings, estimated tax payments, IRS or state notices)

→ Bookkeeping records (monthly financial statements, reconciliation reports, year-end financials)

→ Business formation documents (LLC/organization documents, business licenses, EIN letter, state/local registrations, etc.)

These documents shouldn't exclusively live in your iPhone files or a local folder on your laptop; make sure you're saving them to a location that isn't device-dependent! 🖥️

If you've been looking at signing up for QuickBooks, here's what I want you to do first:

→ Gather everything you'll need to set your company up.

Your company's legal name, entity type, fiscal year, your tax return from last year, your EIN, all the basics!

→ List out all of the accounts you'll want to include.

Think checking and savings accounts, credit cards, payment processors, loans, and CRMs.

→ Make a list of must-have features.

Do you need to process payments or send invoices? What about track time or run payroll?

Choosing the right QuickBooks plan first can make your life SO much easier.

Almost every restaurant owner I know uses Google Drive for something in their business, so why not receipts? Set up individual folders for month/year to take your organization to the next level. 🗂️

If you're big on managing your inbox, setting up a Receipts folder in your email is a great way to automatically organize your receipts. Bonus points for keeping your inbox less crowded! 📧

And if you're one of my clients, you don't have to stress about your receipts alone!
