šŸ… Artisan’s Palate Craft Series: The Art of the Unexpected

At Artisan’s Palate, some of our favorite ingredients are the ones people never expect to find in a cocktail.

This week, Anji is taking you behind the scenes as she preps our house-made tomato & mint shrub, transforming sun-ripened tomatoes and mint from our garden into a key ingredient in our award-winning You Say Tomato cocktail.

Made from scratch with tomatoes, fresh mint, sugar, and vinegar, the shrub develops a bright balance of acidity, sweetness, and fresh herbal notes. It’s then paired with Ford’s Gin, Canton ginger liqueur, house-made tomato sugar, and topped with prosecco for a crisp, refreshing finish.

From the garden to the glass, we’re always looking for ways to turn familiar ingredients into something unexpected. šŸ…šŸŒæšŸ„‚

šŸ· Continuing Our - Craft Series: The Art of Sangria

Sangria is one of those drinks that feels effortless in the glass, but getting there takes a little patience.

Fresh fruit, wine, and a handful of carefully chosen ingredients are brought together and given time to do what they do best. As the flavors mingle, the fruit lends its brightness, the wine develops depth, and everything settles into balance.

This behind-the-scenes look, captured by Anji, highlights the simple beauty of the process. No shortcuts. No rush. Just time, intuition, and a little hospitality in every glass.

✨ Sometimes the most memorable cocktails are the simplest ones.

Enjoy our signature red or white sangria for just $8 a glass all day long every Wednesday ā¤ļøšŸ¤

šŸ¤Meet the ARTIST & Meet the ARTIST COCKTAIL šŸ¹

Our Artusan’s Gallery featured artist for August & September 2026āš”ļøEnkar Moya (Nuda Studio) Enkar Moya āš”ļø

Nuda Studio Biography

Nuda Studio is the artistic project of a Spanish artist currently based in North Carolina.

Through textures, reliefs, and earthy tones, her work explores human fragility, calmness, and the beauty of imperfection. Each piece is handcrafted using materials such as plaster, concrete, and natural pigments, transforming raw matter into emotion and presence.

Artist Statement

My work explores the relationship between material, silence, and emotion. Through sculptural textures, organic reliefs, and a palette of neutral and earthy tones, I seek to create pieces that convey calmness, presence, and sensitivity.

I work primarily with plaster, concrete, and natural pigments — materials that allow me to build imperfect and deeply human surfaces. Inspired by the wabi-sabi aesthetic and the beauty of the unfinished, each work emerges from an intuitive process where texture becomes language.

The figures and forms appearing in my pieces are often minimalist and partially abstract, leaving space for emotional interpretation. I am interested in creating works that are not only seen, but also felt — pieces that invite the viewer to pause, observe, and reconnect with what is essential.

Nuda Studio represents the balance between delicacy and strength, between the organic and the industrial, between emptiness and presence.

Introducing - Artisan’s Palate 🌱 ā€˜Craft Series’ 🌱
šŸ’š The Art of the Shrub šŸ’š

At Artisan’s Palate, some of the best flavors behind our cocktails start days before they ever reach your glass.

Our bartender Anji has been capturing some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into our bar program, and we thought we’d kick off our new Craft Series with one of our favorite scratch-made ingredients: the shrub.

This week’s shrub begins with local peaches from šŸ’ž Bush-N-Vine šŸ’žand fresh basil from the Artisan’s Palate garden.

The peaches and basil are layered with sugar and left to macerate for 24 hours. After that, they’re gently cooked, cooled, combined with champagne vinegar, and rested for another day before being strained into the bright, tangy ingredient that becomes the foundation of one of our summer favorites.

That shrub is the heart of our šŸ‘ Sweet ImPeachment šŸ‘ cocktail, where it mingles with George Dickel 8-Year Bourbon, Nonino Amaro, peach cordial, lemon, egg white, and ginger bitters.

Making ingredients like this from scratch takes time, but we think it’s worth it. It’s one of the many ways we bring local ingredients, seasonal flavors, and a little extra care to everything we pour.

This is the first in a series where we’ll share the people, processes, and passion behind our drinks. From garden to glass, we can’t wait to show you what goes into creating your favorite Artisan’s Palate cocktails.

šŸ’« Here’s to thoughtful cocktails, local ingredients, and the talented bartenders who bring them to life.

And if you enjoyed the footage, be sure to give Anji some love in the comments! ā¤ļø
