It was an honor to welcome Governor Dan McKee to the 41st Annual Charlestown Seafood Festival! 🦞🌊

We are so grateful that Governor McKee took the time to join us and celebrate this special Rhode Island tradition. During his visit, the Governor presented citations recognizing two incredible milestones: Heather Paliotta for her 25 years as Director of the Charlestown Seafood Festival, and the Rhode Island Shellfisherman’s Association in recognition of their 35 years at the Charlestown Seafood Festival.

These milestones represent decades of dedication, hard work, and commitment to the festival and to Rhode Island’s fishing and shellfishing community. We are incredibly grateful to Heather and the Rhode Island Shellfisherman’s Association for all they have done to help make the Charlestown Seafood Festival the beloved tradition it is today.

Governor McKee also took time to walk around the festival, visit with festival goers, and connect with the many local businesses and vendors who help make the event such a success.

And, of course, no visit to the Charlestown Seafood Festival would be complete without enjoying some of Rhode Island’s finest seafood! Governor McKee and his wife, Susan, sat down together to enjoy steamers and littlenecks. 🦪❤️

It was an honor to welcome Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos back to the 41st Annual Charlestown Seafood Festival! 🦞🌊

For many years now, Lieutenant Governor Matos has made visiting the Charlestown Seafood Festival an annual summer tradition, and we truly love having her here each year. Her continued support of our festival, our community, and the small businesses and organizations that make Rhode Island so special means so much to us.

This year’s visit was especially meaningful as Lieutenant Governor Matos helped us recognize two incredible milestones. She presented citations to Heather Paliotta in celebration of her 25 years as Director of the Charlestown Seafood Festival, and to the Rhode Island Fishermen’s Association honoring their 35 years at the Charlestown Seafood Festival. We are incredibly grateful for their years of dedication and for everything they have done to help make this beloved tradition possible.

During her visit, Lieutenant Governor Matos also took time to experience the festival and connect with some of our amazing vendors. She stopped by Behan Family Farm to chat with owners Matt and Kate, enjoyed a grilled cheese short rib sandwich from Sunset Farm, and sampled the delicious Zespri SunGold Kiwis.

She also tasted the lactose-free milk from Garelick Farms, spoke with Manscreen, a veteran-owned men’s sunscreen company that traveled all the way from Hawaii to join us, and visited Bumble Bee Blinds, a newly launched Rhode Island-based business.

We are incredibly grateful to Lieutenant Governor Matos for continuing to make the Charlestown Seafood Festival part of her summer tradition and for always taking the time to support the people, businesses, farmers, fishermen, and entrepreneurs who bring our festival to life.

A huge THANK YOU to WJAR NBC 10 and Jason Doris for spending part of your day with us at the 41st Annual Charlestown Seafood Festival! 🦞🎥☀️
It was wonderful to welcome Jason to the festival as he delivered the live weather during the NBC 10 News at Noon, giving viewers across Southern New England a taste of all the excitement happening in Charlestown this weekend.

Of course, no visit to the Charlestown Seafood Festival would be complete without enjoying some incredible local seafood! Jason sampled a dozen fresh oysters from 401 Oyster Company and stopped by The Breachway Grill to chat about their fresh tuna catch, one of the many delicious seafood offerings festivalgoers can enjoy all weekend long.

We’re so grateful to WJAR NBC 10 and Jason Doris for helping us showcase the incredible food, local businesses, and community spirit that make the Charlestown Seafood Festival one of Rhode Island’s favorite summer traditions.
