Hey!! My time here in Boise is finally about to come to an end, the wound care has been going great (not dramatic at all). I see the wound care Dr on Thurs and my last appointment is Fri, I see no reason that I shouldn't be home this weekend! 🥳 ...and everything can return to normal FINALLY!🥳🥳
I can't thank Vicky Quigley Weiner enough for everythingshe has done for me...it's just SUPER!! Kilisha Burnam thank you for stepping up and doing all the extras I needed. Faye Sullivan Knox & Tammy Knox Aldous you 2 always do so much for me, thank you!!🥰🥰
So, here's the plan: everything is back to normal next week...the bar hours:
Tues & Wed OPEN @ 5
Thursday, Fri & Sat OPEN @ 3
However, tonight Vicky is feeling under the weather so the bar is CLOSED tonight. Which reminds me: THANK YOU to everyone for all your support while I've been gone!!😍

Sooooooo...the city water valve to my building is currently broken: I have no water, I can not Open tonight. Hopefully is fixed tomorrow...all I can say is: F-word.

Shyla’s Hideaway Temporary Change
Sooo…I am taking a leave of absence. As most of you know, I have had a reoccurring “issue” over this last year (I nicknamed it the “crotchety little terrorist”) and now finally it is going to be removed and (hopefully) never to return. I’m going to Boise for the surgery and remaining there for the wound care; worst case scenario (again hopefully) I’ll be gone about a month (Sept 24-Oct 16)…I am hoping to be home and back to cooking sooner.
What does this mean for Shyla’s Hideaway? I got Plan A, B & C and because of a very dear (stubborn and bossy) friend we are making Plan A happen: we will be OPEN with just a couple adjustments to the hours and grill menu. Yes, there will be a few items removed from the menu just to help things run smoother in the kitchen; my shoebox kitchen is a challenge even for me after 11 years.
Tues – Friday OPEN @ 5 but we will be CLOSED Saturday
Vicky Weiner (Y-Inn Cafe’s owner) who is the Ultimate Kitchen Rockstar is going to come cook in my place…I can’t come up with the words for what this means to me (but I do cry a lot), I am truly fortunate to call her my friend. Vicky already has so many responsibilities and family stuff going on, I am deeply thankful she can help me at all! So, that being said: Plan A can quickly become Plan B if Vicky needs to make any changes to her schedule (still OPEN but even less hours). Worst case…Plan C: we are CLOSED until I am able to return, none of us want Plan C.
I know this is inconvenient and I sincerely appreciate everyone for being supportive, kind, patient and understanding.
