Our first Gluten Free Hero workplace delivery was a pretty special one!

Tim and I stopped by a local food pantry to surprise their hardworking volunteers with some Happy Mixer goodies.

We thought we'd simply be dropping off some treats and saying hello, but Cindy was kind enough to give us a tour and introduce us to some of the wonderful people who volunteer there.

What an experience!

There's so much work happening behind the scenes that most of us never get to see. We left with a whole new appreciation for the time, energy, and care these volunteers put into helping their community.

We went there hoping to brighten their day a little, and they ended up brightening ours.

A wonderful way to kick off our Gluten Free Hero in Your Workplace initiative!

An ode to our old bakery van. ❤️

We don't know how many more miles we have together, but after nearly ten years, we know one thing for certain. This old van has carried a whole lot more than baked goods.

It's carried some of our biggest hopes, worries and more memories than we ever imagined.

Back in December 2016, Tim and I were doing everything we could to grow our little bakery. We needed a delivery van, but when every dollar mattered, buying one felt like a pretty big gamble.

We found this 2006 van with about 60,000 miles on it and crossed our fingers. And then we drove it.

After being used to regular cars, it felt like driving a school bus. We were convinced we were taking up the entire road just trying to stay between the lines. The seats were surprisingly comfortable, so at least if we'd made a terrible financial decision, we'd be comfortable!

Then we had it wrapped.

Seeing The Happy Mixer on the side made us ridiculously proud. We thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

Since then, it's carried countless deliveries, wedding cakes and more gluten free goodies than we could ever count. We've packed it floor to ceiling for gluten free expos and pulled in feeling like we'd really arrived.

Somewhere along the way, it became part of our family story too.

Tim's dad started driving it and helping with deliveries. Years later, Timmy came along, and by age three, he was happily climbing around inside while Tim replaced the carpeting in the back.

Nearly ten years later, we've added close to 100,000 miles.

These days, it's showing its age. A door handle here. A little something there. We know it won't be with us forever.

But that's the funny thing about something that's been beside you through years of hard work, uncertainty, excitement and growth.

At some point, it stops being just an old van.

It becomes a little piece of your history.

Someday, when it's no longer sitting outside our Chalfont bakery, we'll miss seeing it there. And perhaps, some of you might, too.

Because in its own funny way, that old van helped carry The Happy Mixer to where we are today.

Here's to you, old friend. And hopefully, many more miles together. ❤️

Rain or shine, the gluten free community shows up!
We had such a great time today at the Step Beyond Celiac 5K! We loved seeing so many of our Happy Mixer customers out supporting the gluten free community and meeting new faces who got to try our goodies for the first time!

Despite the rain, the turnout and energy were amazing. We’re so grateful to be part of events that bring this wonderful community together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi! We loved seeing you!

If we’re going to have a rainy last Sunday in September, at least we can make it pretty!

One month.
I keep looking at this photo from our grand opening day. I hoped the day would go well, but I don't think I could have imagined just how special it would feel. What I especially did not expect was how many of you would come in and tell me your story.

So many of you have shared what it means to finally have a place like this close to home. Parents trying to make sure their kids never feel left out. People who have gotten used to having fewer choices at birthdays, holidays and celebrations. Those conversations have stayed with me long after the doors closed for the night.

And in a lot of ways, that is exactly why I wanted to bring The Happy Mixer to Limerick.

Before I ever thought about owning one, I had already seen firsthand what The Happy Mixer could mean to my own family and the people close to me. I saw the excitement that came with bringing home a box of treats and knowing that someone who was used to having limited options suddenly had so many things to choose from.

I hoped that if we could bring that same experience closer to home, other families around here might feel some of that too.

And now, hearing your stories and seeing your reactions firsthand has reinforced all of it.

Every early morning, every long day, every decision that went into getting these doors open feels worth it when someone walks in and realizes what is waiting for them.

Thank you for showing up on day one, for coming back, and for welcoming us into this community.

Limerick, I am really glad we are here.

Come say hi. I would love to hear your story too. - Craig
