Congratulations to Kristi Ivie for being our 2026 Jefferson’s Cedartown Teacher of the Year! Kristi teaches Special Education at Westside Elementary.
We can't think of a better way to tell you what makes her an incredible teacher than by sharing directly from her nominators:
"Kristi goes above and beyond while in the classroom as well as off the clock. Kristi is a Special Education teacher and truly loves her job and her students. She also shows up and supports her students outside the classroom as well. She attends birthday parties, ball games, and will even pick her current and previous students up and take them to ball games, etc. anytime there is something to be celebrated she is there without hesitation. Kristi taught my son before he had to move on to the middle school. And I truly don’t know what we would have done without her. The special needs world isn’t just for anyone. And Kristi proves that over and over again."
Kristi shared, "I am often told what a blessing I am to my students; however, the truth is, they are a blessing to me! These remarkable humans enrich my life daily! They bring with them an innocence and uniqueness that creates a perspective of the world that garners hope and renewal daily. Rest assured, this gift is an ability only found in the purest of human! Human lives that God has blessed me to be a part of. It is an honor I will never feel worthy of!"
Kristi Ivie will receive a $500 gift card to Jefferson’s, as well as a commemorative plaque featuring Kristi as our “Jefferson’s Cedartown Teacher of the Year” for all restaurant patrons to see.
We received an overwhelming number of nominations for this award, and we truly wish we could recognize them all. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who nominated a teacher this year, as well as those teachers who’ve dedicated themselves to their students.
Please join us in congratulating Kristi Ivie for her incredible impact in the classroom and beyond! Or, if you know Kristi, let us know in the comments how she’s had an impact on you.
