PORTFOLIO WISHLIST 🚨

Before anybody asks… NO, these cakes are not my work. 😂🤍

These are some of the Pinterest cakes I’ve been saving because one thing about me? I’m dying to compete with these inspiration pictures and put my own BabyCakes by Zee spin on them. 🎂✨

Lately I’ve been wanting to challenge myself more creatively and expand my portfolio beyond the same designs over and over. From vintage hearts and bows to character cakes, storybook cakes, sculpted cakes, trendy cakes, and all the extra details in between… I want to create it ALL.

Because of that, I may be offering select portfolio cakes at a special rate in exchange for the opportunity to recreate certain designs and add them to my portfolio. 👀✨

SATURDAY TRIED ME. 😅

Yesterday was one of those days where absolutely nothing went according to plan. Between custom orders, deliveries, event prep, unexpected changes, and trying to be in multiple places at once, I spent the entire day adjusting and figuring things out as they came.

But despite the chaos, every order was completed, every customer received their desserts, I made it to the Juneteenth event, and I ended the day grateful.

I also want to say this: kindness truly goes a long way. As a small business owner, I am the baker, decorator, delivery driver, shopper, customer service representative, accountant, marketer, and everything in between. While I always do my best to accommodate my customers, I ask for the same level of respect and consideration in return.

Moving forward, I will be reinforcing business policies, procedures, and expectations. This includes reviewing invoices thoroughly, adhering to scheduled pickup dates and times, delivery arrangements and fees, payment deadlines, and other policies that are already in place. These policies exist for a reason. They help me stay organized, keep orders running smoothly, and allow me to provide the best possible service to every customer.

I take the time to carefully create and send invoices because they contain important information regarding your order. Please take the time to read them in full. They are not just payment requests—they are a detailed outline of your order, pickup or delivery information, payment details, and expectations for both myself and my customers.

BabyCakes by Zee is something I have worked incredibly hard to build. As my business continues to grow, it’s important that the systems, policies, and procedures I have in place are respected. They are there to protect my time, my business, and to ensure that every customer receives the experience they deserve.

This weekend didn’t go according to plan, but every order was completed, every customer got their desserts, and we made it through. For that, I’m thankful.
