All of us at Loosies are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend Mary Parker this past weekend. Mike and Mary Parker have been among our very best customers and very best people over the past 6 or so years, to the extent of feeling almost like family. We will miss Mary's feisty refusal to share her malts with Mike, and her charming, quick wit. To Mike and family we extend our utmost sympathy and best wishes in this time of grief and remembrance.

Loosies is casting a net to try to find a few good employees who want to WORK, are DEPENDABLE, have a great, positive ATTITUDE, who like serving PEOPLE and enjoy improving their DAY. We offer flexible hours, a low pressure environment and owners who do not expect their employees to do anything they would not do themselves. If you cannot do these things on a consistent basis, do not bother to apply. But if you consider these things to be the way things ought to be always, stop in to Loosies any afternoon between 2:30 and 4pm and talk to us. Cooking skills are a plus but not necessary to join our team. Great people skills are.

Last Thursday members of our Loosies family, including Paige Wilkerson and Julie Kristjanson, went to Prospect Meadows special needs baseball diamond in Marion to cheer for a very favorite customer. After the event Paige, who was driving Julie's car, stopped at the stop sign at hwy 13 and County Home Road and proceeded west through the intersection, whereupon a southbound mini van ran through a stop sign and slammed into the passenger side of Julie's car, causing it to careen into the ditch. Paige and Julie were both transported by ambulance to hospitals. Paige was released today (Saturday), but Julie sustained more serious injuries and is still hospitalized, but her injuries are not life-threatening. We are posting this because of the amount of requests for information and the existence of some misinformation.

Overriding all of this is our realization that the outcome could have been much worse, and we look forward to both Paige and Julie's recovery and return.

Sandy has broken the "no soup summer" rule yet again!

She had chicken at her disposal so she brought back everyones favorite soup- Chicken Pot Pie!

But can you blame her? Get some while you can today, if she says it is okay to eat soup in this weather- who are we to argue!

Even though we're in the summer non-soup months, Sandy cannot go cold turkey when it comes to soup making. Therefore, she made a sumptuous Ham Hock and Bean Soup for Tuesday. This soup is packed with large chunks of ham hocks, beans, carrots and lots of flavor. Stop in and get some!

ITS Norms 77th!

If you’ve ever walked through these doors, chances are you’ve met him… probably telling a story, cracking a joke, working harder than anyone half his age, or stubbornly insisting he “doesn’t need help” while doing 10 things at once.

This restaurant exists because of his persistence, strength, and refusal to ever quit; even when most people would’ve. He built more than a business here…he built a place that feels like home to so many people. Around here, he’s everyone’s favorite person

He’s the coolest guy in the room without even trying, the toughest person we know, and proof that hard work can really create something special.
