October has a little chaos in store.
Meet Teagan and Victor, the newest troublemakers entering the Mochi Warriors’ world—and the inspiration behind our Resonance: Chaos menu at Munchi Mochi Café.
Teagan is a sharp-tongued descendant of the Von Haulkein bloodline. She has inherited a talent for magic, but patience for mastering it? That’s another story. At 5′3″, she brings enough confidence to fill any room.
Victor is her towering, 7′10″ revenant companion, bound to this world through a skull-topped bone totem. Unsettlingly polite and occasionally amused by her decisions, he’s almost always at her side. Together, they’re about to make the Warriors’ quiet movie night much more interesting.
Follow their introduction in “Something to Scream About,” then come discover the three October flavors they inspired:
TEAGAN’S HEX
Taro milk tea with a black sugar swirl and black tapioca pearls. Creamy, bold, and a little mischievous.
VICTOR’S GHOST STORY
Peach black tea with lemon-lime soda popping boba. A fruity tea with a bright pop in every sip.
THE CROOKED MAN
A dark chocolate mochi donut finished with banana and ginger drizzles. Three flavors worth getting acquainted with.
Bring a friend and choose your favorite—or split the donut while you debate which character is going to cause the most trouble.
You can also catch Munchi Mochi at TWO Trunk or Treat events on October 24:
SAVING US AT WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
1–3 PM
INFUSE CHURCH CR
4–6 PM
We’re looking forward to spending the afternoon with our community, seeing your costumes, and sharing a little Munchi Mochi fun.
Until then, stop by Munchi Mochi Café in Cedar Rapids and try Resonance: Chaos. Get to know Teagan and Victor onscreen, then meet their flavors at the café.

“Okay, big guy… Let’s give ’em sumthin to scream about.” — Teagan
Some people see a quiet movie night and leave well enough alone. Teagan sees an opportunity.
This week’s Mochi Warriors episode, “Something to Scream About,” gives the crew a rare chance to relax. No explosions. No emergency calls. Just an old horror movie and enough teasing to make Zoey regret admitting she ever had nightmares.
Rex remembers. Nandi keeps count. Phoebe has a comeback ready. And Alistar insists the movie is boring, even as his attention keeps drifting toward something behind him.
For all their experience facing real danger, the Warriors still need evenings like these: familiar jokes, small arguments, and time together. It’s the kind of ordinary night worth protecting.
Unfortunately, someone across the street has other plans.
Teagan and Victor arrive together. She’s sharp-tongued, confident, and a little too pleased with the timing. He’s her towering, crooked companion, watching with the patience of someone who knows the night is about to become interesting.
Their connection runs through a skull-topped bone totem, lavender flames, and magic Teagan hasn’t entirely mastered. Her confidence, however, is doing just fine.
The Warriors think they’re watching a horror movie. Teagan and Victor are preparing to make the evening personal.
Watch this week’s episode and tell us: would you notice something behind you, or be too busy insisting you weren’t scared?
Then come taste their side of the story at Munchi Mochi Café in Cedar Rapids with our Resonance: Chaos menu.
Teagan’s Hex: Taro milk tea with a black sugar swirl and black tapioca pearls.
Victor’s Ghost Story: Peach black tea with soda popping boba.
The Crooked Man: A dark chocolate mochi donut with banana and ginger drizzles.
Bring a friend, try the drinks, share a donut, and choose your favorite. Follow the chaos onscreen—then come experience Resonance: Chaos at Munchi Mochi Café.

Movie night. A rare night off. What could possibly go wrong?
This week’s Mochi Warriors episode, “Something to Scream About,” starts with something our crew doesn’t get very often: a quiet evening together.
No explosions. No emergency calls. Just an old horror movie and friends who cannot let each other enjoy it in peace.
Zoey insists she isn’t afraid. Rex remembers the nightmares. Nandi remembers exactly how many times they happened. And Phoebe has a few thoughts about Alistar’s less-than-enthusiastic movie review.
Alistar is clearly too unimpressed to be scared… so why does he keep checking behind his chair?
Maybe there’s nothing there.
Across the street, two unexpected spectators have discovered the Warriors’ plans for the evening. Teagan and Victor think horror-movie night is a very convenient choice—and their idea of entertainment might be a little different from everyone else’s.
This episode opens our October story arc with friendship, teasing, and the uncomfortable feeling that the scary part might be happening somewhere beyond the television screen. It’s a quiet beginning to a night the Warriors may wish they’d spent doing almost anything else.
Watch “Something to Scream About” and tell us: who are you on movie night? The fearless one, the lights-on sleeper, the friend making jokes, or the one quietly checking every sound behind you?
Then bring your crew to Munchi Mochi Café in Cedar Rapids and try the Mochi Warriors Resonance Menu. Meet the characters onscreen, then discover their flavors at the café. Whether your favorite is Rex, Alistar, Cedric, Nandi, Zoey, or Phoebe, come find your resonance.
Come for your favorite Warrior. Stay for your new favorite flavor.

LAST CALL — September’s final week is here.
September is wrapping up, and so are some of the flavors we’ve been sharing all month. If there’s something you’ve been meaning to try, this is the week to stop thinking about it and come eat it.
Our Mochi Butter Cake Bars are part of that last call. These are rich, chewy bars with that signature dense, bouncy mochi texture and a lightly baked exterior. This week you can grab Pumpkin, with warm pumpkin flavor baked throughout, or Haupia, a coconut-forward bar inspired by the mellow tropical flavor of haupia. If you haven’t tried them yet—or already discovered a favorite—don’t wait until they’re gone.
It’s also the final Musubi event of September, featuring Red Dog, Shoku Tofu, and Honey Garlic Chicken. Three very different choices, from the bright red hot dog and pickled white cabbage of Red Dog to tofu with cabbage and cucumber or chicken loaf patty finished with honey garlic glaze and pickled cucumber.
And Yamino’s Predation Menu is reaching the end of its run too. This is your final chance for the Yokai Milk Tea, Moonlit Howl, and peanut-butter Exiled Mochi Donut before Yamino’s menu leaves with September.
Plus, our Fall Menu is here with Pumpkin Spice, Chai Caramel, Apple Cinnamon, Honey Ginger and more waiting behind it.
So consider this your warning: don’t wait until next week and ask us where everything went.
Come grab the Mochi Butter Cake Bars, eat your way through the final Musubi selections, experience Predation one more time, and welcome fall at Munchi Mochi.
September is almost over. Eat the good stuff before it disappears.

“Being alone doesn’t always mean you were left behind.” — Yamino Inugami
For most of Yamino’s story, being alone has meant one thing: exile.
It meant losing the place he once belonged. It meant carrying the memory of a pack that left scars long after he walked away. It meant learning to survive without expecting anyone to stand beside him.
But there is a difference between being abandoned and choosing your own path.
That difference is what Yamino begins to understand in the final chapter of his story.
The Mochi Warriors never asked him to become one of them. Rex never offered him a new pack to replace the old one. There was no dramatic invitation, no promise that everything was suddenly forgiven or understood.
Instead, Yamino was given something much simpler: the freedom to leave on his own terms.
When he passes the Mochi Warriors’ mark again, it carries a different weight than it did before. The symbol hasn’t changed.
Yamino has.
He can acknowledge what happened, keep moving forward, and still walk alone without believing that means nobody wanted him there.
Sometimes walking away isn’t rejection.
Sometimes it means you finally get to decide where you’re going next.
This is also your LAST WEEK to experience Yamino’s Resonance: Predation Menu. Grab the Yokai Milk Tea, Moonlit Howl, and Exiled Mochi Donut before Yamino’s menu disappears at the end of the week.
And our final Musubi event brings three new selections: Red Dog with red hot dog and pickled white cabbage, Shoku Tofu with tofu, pickled white cabbage and cucumber, and Honey Garlic Chicken with a chicken loaf patty, honey garlic glaze and pickled cucumber.
One final week. One final chapter.
Come feel the Resonance while you still can.

Rex said it last week: “He’s not the problem.”
But that leaves a much bigger question.
In the final week of Yamino Inugami’s story, the Mochi Warriors begin to understand that the creature they’ve been tracking may not have been hunting them at all. Its movements were desperate. Its feeding was erratic. And when it had the chance to hold its ground, it ran.
Yamino recognizes the signs before anyone else.
It wasn’t hunting them. It was running from something.
Following that trail brings Yamino and the Warriors somewhere unexpected—and introduces a new face who seems to know more than he is saying. Between food, questions, and one very awkward moment of hospitality, Yamino finds himself in unfamiliar territory: surrounded by people who have every reason to distrust him, but no one is forcing him to stay or telling him he has to leave.
When Yamino finally asks Rex, “You’re just letting me walk?”
Rex’s answer is simple.
“You walked in on your own. Figure you can walk out the same way.”
For someone who has spent so much time defining himself by exile, that freedom means more than either of them says.
And when Yamino passes the Mochi Warriors’ mark again, this time he doesn’t recoil.
He just keeps walking.
But one question remains: if the creature was running… what was it running from?
This is the FINAL WEEK of Yamino’s Resonance: Predation Menu, so don’t miss your last chance to try the Yokai Milk Tea, Moonlit Howl and Exiled Mochi Donut before they disappear.
And we’re closing out the story with our final Musubi event, featuring three new selections: Red Dog with red hot dog and pickled white cabbage, Shoku Tofu with tofu, pickled white cabbage and cucumber, and Honey Garlic Chicken with a chicken loaf patty, honey garlic glaze and pickled cucumber.
Watch the finale. Feel the Resonance. Then come taste the final week of Predation while you still can.

Week 4 has entered the chat, and apparently nobody told us we were supposed to pick just one thing to be excited about.
This week at Munchi Mochi, we’re taking a little trip through Japanese street-food flavors with three Week 4 Musubi Specials.
Tokyo Teriyaki Chicken keeps things familiar with our house-made chicken loaf, teriyaki, sesame seeds, seasoned rice, and nori. It’s savory, a little sweet, and completely pork-free.
Miso Garden is our vegan option, built with miso-glazed tofu, fresh cucumber, sesame seeds, seasoned rice, and nori. No meat required. No sad vegan substitute energy either.
Then there’s Osaka Okonomiyaki, our street-food-inspired wildcard: a Japanese-style chicken patty with cabbage, okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, seasoned rice, and nori.
And before anybody panics, Classic Musubi and Munchi Musubi are still here too. We would never do that to you.
But Week 4 didn’t stop at musubi.
Yamino has officially crossed into Munchi Mochi with his September specials. Try the strawberry Yokai Milk Tea, the butterfly-pea, lemon and lychee Moonlit Howl, or the peanut-butter-and-chocolate Exiled Mochi Donut while following the next chapter of Yamino Inugami and the Mochi Warriors.
Meanwhile, fall has decided it lives here now. Our Fall Menu includes Pumpkin Spice Whey Protein, Pumpkin Spice Boba, Chai Tea with Caramel Drizzle, Apple Cinnamon Black Tea, and Honey Ginger Black Tea.
And one more thing: our Hawaiian Chili Weekend Special is Friday and Saturday, September 25–26, served with your choice of rice or a bao bun.
Basically, Week 4 has side quests.
Come hungry. Try something you haven’t had before. Find your favorite before the rotating specials rotate again.

“That’s how you knew.” — Rex
Sometimes the answer isn’t in what someone tells you.
It’s in what they notice.
Rex has been watching Yamino from the moment their paths crossed. The strange territorial mark at Kirkwood. The memories Yamino couldn’t quite explain. The way he reacted when something unfamiliar entered the city. There were pieces of the story that didn’t fit yet, but Rex knew better than to ignore them.
Then the Resonance Scavenger appeared.
And Yamino changed.
Not metaphorically. Not a trick of the light. The lone teenager Rex had been following suddenly revealed something he had kept hidden beneath the surface: the wolf-blooded Yokai he really is.
That should have created more questions.
Instead, it answered one.
Yamino looks back at Rex and realizes something important.
Rex already knew.
“That’s how you knew.”
One sentence. One realization. And suddenly their earlier encounter looks a little different.
Rex wasn’t simply following a stranger through the city. He had noticed something in Yamino before Yamino ever showed him the truth.
But knowing what Yamino is and knowing who Yamino is are two very different things.
That story is only beginning.
Follow along as the world of the Mochi Warriors gets a little bigger, a little stranger, and a lot more dangerous.
And when you’re ready to experience a piece of the story for yourself, come into Munchi Mochi and try the Yamino Menu, including Yokai Milk Tea, Moonlit Howl, and the Exiled Mochi Donut.
While you’re here, check out our Week 4 Japanese Street Food Musubi with Tokyo Teriyaki Chicken, Miso Garden, and Osaka Okonomiyaki, or switch seasons with something from our Fall Menu.
The story continues. The Resonance is spreading.
