- ALMOST THE END OF AN ERA AT RUDY’S DONUTS -

As of 5 AM, there were 40 people lined up for donuts as owners Gina and Angela are retiring and closing for good tomorrow after 60 years in business.

From what folks online have been saying, all donuts have been selling out as early as 9 AM.

Rudy's Donuts was founded by Rudy Gatto who worked at the Winchell's Donut house further up Castro Valley Boulevard and opened shop at the corner of CV Boulevard and Yeandle - establishing a reputation as an honest businessman who made delicious donuts and pastries.

Rudy passed away in 2006 after 46 years of business in town and to this day - Gina and Angela continue the tradition at Rudy's donuts, serving great donuts to generations of customers.
