Working with your spouse doesn't mean you have to be good at the same things.
In our case, we're actually very different.
Melissa is much more the visionary and creator.
The menus, ideas, content, systems and a lot of the behind-the-scenes ins and outs of Two Chef Mission live in her brain. If there's a menu going to a client, it started with her.
Tony is much more of the people person and maker.
If there's an event, he's there. If there's a call, he's probably on it. He's naturally good at talking to people, building relationships and being the person out front.
Of course, there's plenty of crossover. We both cook, work with clients, make decisions and have spent years building this business together.
But one of the things we've learned is that working together doesn't mean doing everything together or doing everything the same way.
Sometimes it's knowing what the other person is really good at and letting them do it.
And thankfully, we're good at very different things.
If you work with your spouse or partner, are you pretty similar or complete opposites?
